Hopefully it will let you see that, but its a JDM DC2 type r 104k miles for £3600 and looks to be in fairly good shape, few mods aswell but nothing major
seems about average milage to me but im not looking for a low mileage minter to be honest
but i will agree that an EK9 for less than £4000 will be hard to come by so im swaying towards the DC2 now but we shal see what happens when its closer to the time

if ive missed a post inbetween feel free to correct me lol but if your budget is 4k that will only get you an absolute high mileage dog in any of the following -
ek9, dc2 type r, dc5, impreza, evo. id say u need to spend more like 6-7k or more for a properly decent example of any of those.
i think the celica gt4 is your best bet for 4k if you want something fast and jap but a bit bigger than a starlet or maybe a civic ek4/jordan
edit - dont buy an rx8 lol they are cheap as fuck for a very good reason - they r awful. high tax, oil burning, fuel guzzling, shit handling, occasional engine dying for no particular reason, and slow as shit lol
yeah i think EK9 is pretty much out of it but ive seen a few DC2's for roughly £4000, DC5, imprezas and evos are all well over my budget though
-
Both of these have silly high tax !! 12months on an RX8 is like £220!
hadn't considered that but I was talking to a guy at work today who recently got a Mk5 golf R32, he says the tax on that is over £400! Mental.
-
RX8?
did consider an RX8 but i dont like the look of them, if RX7's were the same price i would be all over that!
-
Accord, Altezza and Chaser's are a good call but i dont fancy them either :/
-
Id love one myself, either an all out slutty drift spec one or a nice GTS4 as a daily
yeah id like a nice clean daily one, drifting can quickly ruin a nice car, would hate to see a car of my own in such a state
-
I'd drive one of them, in all honestly a dc2 has shit loads of leg room in the rear a huge boot 185+ bhp 30 odd to the gallon and the handling is great.
I fucking love mine and it's reliable fast and fun
Yeah DC2 seems pretty ideal
-
just not a fan of the look of them to be honest :/
-
Really liking the idea of a R32 GTS or GTST now...
-
Few on driftworks most are a bit over the 4k mark, this seems ok and in budget but can see its not to everyones taste. Agree on the R33 not being a looker, not a fan at all.

that does look pretty cool, might have a look around, but still think running costs would be steep
-
yeah i will be checking insurance closer to the time and skylines would be cool but i can see them being pricey to maintain, and DC5's are out of my price range too
-
i do like VIP cars but i forgot to mention the mountain of a curb to get into my cul-de-sac not fond of the AE111 either :/
-
Or be a pimp and get a GS300 and VIP the fuck out of it.
haha maby one day, but not feeling it right now
-
I was going to suggest an Evo but your age and budget will probably be against you.
yes, but i would love an evo
-
Agreed, if you want to live at the petrol station go for the silvia lol Impreza is a good choice but It's gone rather chavy imo, type r JDM yo
Haha, two good points
-
If your taking passengers out in the car regulary then why not look for something like an Impreza?
Alot more practical for rear seat passengers.
Had a quick look, only really like the later ones but they're well out of my price range D:
-
What about a Corolla T-sport?
not a big fan im afraid, but good shout

Good idea, il look into it!

That link goes to an S15? i would love one but i cant afford an S15, and as much as i would love a 14 i dont think it would be practical enough, i will be taking a closer look at a friends soon but i would like to be able to take 3 adults + me
-
I vote DC2, in red or white
im thinking its most likely going to be a DC2, white would be nice but it would need to be the JDM front end or no deal.

Hi all, Im going to be strait, im not enjoying my Glanza as much as I would like. Its just not what im looking for at the moment, if i could have it as a second car it would be better but its just too much of a toy, need something a bit bigger and more grown up but still fun to drive, with a bit of character and cool-ness (and still be Japanese too).
The three I'm thinking at the moment are; Civic EK9, Integra DC2 or a Nissan s14
The issues ive got is that I quite often take passengers in the back (struggle in the Glanza, knocking exhaust and scrubbing tires aren't cool) and I don't have the facilities to do big repairs or maintenance (not that the Glanza ever needs any but it restricts my options for a next car)
looking at the three cars ive chosen they all have downsides
EK9, very expensive and look a bit pedestrian
S14, lack of rear leg room and possibly high maintenance
DC2 im not sure i want one very much but it seems to tick all of the boxes (unsure of rear leg room if anyone can shed some light)
Budget will be about £4000 if all goes well and insurance dependant as I will only be 21 when it comes time to buy the new car.
I'm not sure if I'm being too fussy but if anyone has any other ideas or information on the cars I've mentioned it would be much appreciated.
Decisions decisions..
