Been a while but finally, time for new shocks
Bump stops were a bit expensive but had to be done
And finally just to finish things off
Ready for JAE.

Well, pleased to say that the Starlet wasn't written off and £1200 later is now back home as good as new apart from a slight tailgate alignment issue which I sorted.
Turns out the poor old girl had had quite a clout and once work was started another meeting was required as to whether to repair it or not, but after a bit of pulling and stretching on a jig, she's now back on the drive
If we get a glimmer of sunlight this w/e I will get some pics up.
Must also add that Kath isn't as good as new yet but getting there.

Not given an update for ages but as some of you know got the car down to JAE and came away with some silver ware, I'll take this opportunity to thank all those who voted and also thank everyone for the warm welcome and those that commented on the forum.
Nothing been done on the Starlet since then but a bit of bad news as Kath was rear ended last week, first of all Kath was not seriously hurt but is suffering from all the usual whiplash injuries, the car didn't fair too well and has creases to the boot floor and will need a new bumper, we are waiting at the moment for a decision as to whether they are going to write it off or not, keeping fingers crossed.

Ok guys, apart from a new SS exhaust at some point it's done so a few pics.
got these as they were a 30mil drop and didn't want to go any more
and a couple of my Corolla Compressor
A big thanks to Socks for the GT rear lights and sun visors, also to Rock-Kick-Ass for the V Speed rims, I think the finished product doesn't to bad,
I will be going to JAE with CC.net but may ask if I can park it with you guys for a while.

Isn't it always the case, just ordered some springs last night

Absolutely top man, wheels came well packaged with no damage and just as described, very informative with lots of feedback as to delivery even sorted some insurance for me and package came in quick time.
I would recommend anyone to buy from Daz and in my opinion looks to be as honest as the day is long.

I think the next job will be to get some new shocks and springs and drop it a bit about 30/35 mm, thinking of keeping reasonably OEM may even keep the original head unit, dig out all my old cassettes lol.
Will get some more pics up when I get her home tomorrow hopefully looking mint.

Well, at least I've been told by Toyota that it's an 81 officially. Bought this through a friend for £200, and was probably going to end up on the scraphead. It is a 1.3 fuel-injected 2E-E. Been in the same family since new, four owners (grandad, grandma, mother, and son). Mileage is only 47 thousand miles, and other than damage to the front left corner, is absolutely mint.
When I first got it home, I had originally looked at it when it was wet and raining at night, damage to the front looked worse than I remembered. Bumper had been pushed into the metal box section and sliced into it, headlight looked fine, but the rear had caved in and smashed the reflector. Indicator was smashed from what turned out to be a different impact, which had also creased the left wing.
Ended up buying a new bumper, bumper support bar, headlight, indicator and wing all from Toyota. No pictures of this lot though. Stripped everything off and set about cleaning the engine bay which looked filthy, but in fact because it had been coated in general oil and road grime, cleaned up pretty well apart from the rocker cover. Took that back to bare metal and re-painted it black, managing to save the original decal.
It failed its first MOT, but all it needed was a new track rod end and a CV joint. Getting off the CV joint was a pain in the behind as the circlip was knackered. We eventually got it sorted thanks to an angle grinder and got a new one fitted. Passed the retest no issues.
It was obvious that the bonnet had been resprayed at some point as it was a completely different shade of red, the same went for the drive side rear arch. But the rest T-cutted ok apart from some touched up places (parking scratches). It was garaged but I think the old lady had ricocheted it in to park it(!) lol
With the above paint damage and the new wing and bumper, I decided to send it in to get the parts sprayed and lower section of the car resprayed. I was told that the tailgate and roof would machine polish up and blend in. I had also gotten this spoiler off ebay which isn't as big as a GT spoiler and suited it better.
So at the moment, it's ready to be picked up in the morning, at which point I can fit the GT rear lights I got off Socks. Only doing this as one of the rear lights was cracked and resembled an aquarium. I always liked the look of them too. Was still on original steelies and tatty wheel trims, but I'm awaiting a package from Ireland! In the meantime it's rolling on bluebear's winter Rotas.

PM sent.

Hey mate, are the bulb holders and wiring available for these? Long enough to splice into an N/A loom.

Does anyone know what CV joints these take?

Hi all, I'm Nicks (bluebear) dad some of you guys may have seen me at jae wandering arround like an old guy with dementia usually on the look out for him.
Now that Nick has buggered off and left home taking the GT with him it's left a space on the drive and me with itchy fingers.
So when this little gem cropped up it was too good to miss. £200 with 47k on the clock, 1.3 litre 2E, needs a bit of work but but looking forward to getting started on it, will get some pics up soon and start a project thread.
