  1. So...has anyone managed to get their noise fixed?
  2. My 5" tachometer has been frustrating me. At times, when idling it shows 7000rpm, but when I accelerate it gives a correct reading. It seems to be an issue that comes and goes. Sometimes, I get a true reading when idling other times, it only reads right when accelerating. Anyone else had to deal with this?

  4. will a mismatched fuel pump cause this jerking?...keeping in mind that i do not have any engine management. i am not sure what pump the mech used, i know that it was a new pump but not the oem starlet pump
  5. In my case, i do not have any management apart from my stock ecu.
  6. I still have not got around to changing my O2 sensor. I am however getting normal readings on the air/fuel gauge. What i find strange is that my battery voltage reading fluctuates by 1 volt less when it jerks/idles erratic. It idles almost as if there is a misfire.
  7. Forgot to mention that I also changed the fuel pump when the HG was changed. Took it out last night and noticed that when it jerks, both the O2 and voltage readings dip alot.
  8. Yeah about that is correct. It is usually when i am approaching a stop and my foot is off the gas pedal but the car is still in gear.
  9. Hi Guys, I have recently changed my HG. Since then though, I have been having a problem everytime I am coming to a stop. Let's say if I am approaching a red light and leave the car in whatever gear be it a very low or high gear, the car begins to jerk really heavily/violently. At full revs it works fine, the problem is only when slowing down. If I go into neutral while coming to a stop, there is absolutely no jerking. I think my O2 sensor is on its way out as well so....don't know if that is contributing too.

    Smoking issue

    Interesting...mine seems to be a bit of the reverse. When idling, it smokes too much...not visible as if a turbo seal is gone but still too much smoke. Smoke isnt blue but isnt really white either....i know it is not the best description but i will try to get a vid of it. The strange part is the smell of the smoke, smells like something is burning. And it does not smoke all the time, seems to be on and off occurence...i know it tends to come after some hard runs tho..but other times it can simply be after switching on the car.

  14. So my old gasket went MIA on me. I am seeing a small water leak at the back of the engine right at the head gasket. I have been hunting a replacement 1.6mm headgasket but to no avail. I have sourced a 1.5mm Cometic. However, my Wiseco pistons are 74mm and the Cometic gasket says: 'for up to 74.5mm'...will this work together?...i know it's a pretty newb question. Have not started stripping down yet so I am not sure what was the bore size on the old gasket but contacted the seller and concluded it was a 75mm.

  18. This just randomly started...when idling the tach shows 7000rpm, it does not actually idle at that obviously tho. When I rev, it works properly...once pedal is released it goes back up to 7000rpm...Any suggestions????
