also should i leave it running at standard boost or turn it up a bit?

have just had my turbo overhauled by Liam D at midlands turbo,did an amazing job on it!!!!!!

any preferences to and adjustable actuator to do it or a boost valve??

have got a defender on her which was fitted when i had her but have turned it 14 after hearing some bad things about them.

Can you only fit a front air filter if you have a half size radiator?

Restriction where bud? Which part of the manifold?

Just wondered if anyone had tried the rx7 intercooler mod and whether the benefits were worth it??

Also is it a straight forward swap for the original ic? Mounting points? Can you still use seal on underside of bonnet due to increased thickness of new ic!

if i didnt need a manifold too would do it as have heard he defo the guy to go to!!

Head is buzzing mate as where to go with her, want to use her as a daily but do quite a few track days with my mates so need the reliability as well as performance.

just bought a full size 40mm alloy rad and removed the aircon.

was thinking of running her with the ct9 and top mount this year to see how she holds up on track etc!but not having much luck turbo wise at mo.

Yeah and i cranked her for a while with the coil disconnected before i started her mate. Thinking maybe got sold a duff one.

Have been offered a turbo and manifold from a guy on here and the option of it being reconditioned but after spending quite a bit on here lately need to keep the budget in tow!!

Hey guys here we go again lol. Story so far.

original turbo started to smoke when engine got hot.obvious prognosis knackered turbo.defo not a breathing issue as have filtered rocker cover outlet and taken the rear one to a catch can then to atmosphere and blanked inlet manifold.Went and picked up a supposedly good secondhand unit which i fitted then after first drive had oil blowing out of dump valve and smoking from exhaust. Took it back off again and took front turbine housing off. Full of oil but rear of turbo looked ok. So replaced front seal and put back onto car.in the meantime also found a crack in the exhaust manifold so something else to sort out!

anyhow took her out again yesterday after refitting the turbo and hey presto pumping oil out of dump valve again.just want to check there nothing else could be at fault?? Pretty sure its turbo as didnt have the dump valve issue on original turbo.

Been for last few years and is a really good crack. Usually do track time but was too late this year so looking forward to something different for a change.

Am booked on for spring performance day which will be my first track session in the starlet so hopefully she will in one piece to catch up with you guys at japfest!!

Hey usually head to japfest to do some track time but have left it too late this year but still fancy heading up.

Live in cardiff and see they have a stand for the owners so wondered if anyone heading up from this way as may give it a go.

Hey has anyone got an exhaust manifold for a ct9?

mine is a standard but have found a crack so am looking to replace or upgrade.

looking at an alloy radiator and have found one buts its listed for a 91!

use the car as a daily but also plan on doing at least half a dozen track sessions during the year.

just fitted a set of D2 coilovers so can adjust camber on front so could do with some geometry figures to try out!!

hi i have a 1989 gt turbo,do you know if it will fit mate??

fitted catch can etc in work today still no oil in pipework,on way home tonight was held up in traffic and with engine warm did a lot more smokey joe so am looking at maybe the turbo the culprit after all!!!

anywhere anyone can recommend for a replacement ct9???
