  1. Thanks for the reply!!! I wanted to do this from the start when i was building the engine but unfortunately here in Cyprus there isn't any guy with such experience to do a job like this and the only way was to ship the head to another country which was very expensive.. So that is why the head doesn't have any work on it such as valves and porting and polishing...

My question is if my dynograph looks similar with other 4E's with the same or close enough setup because i feel something is wrong with the mid range power... :/

  2. Hi guys and greetings from Cyprus!!

The setup of the car is a forged 4E with 5E cams and intake manifold with a VF30 turbo boosting around 25 psi.

My question is how can i improve the mid range of the car without losing the top end power if its possible without the use of Nitrous???

Also the car has all the supporting mods and it runs with a standalone Adaptronic 420c Ecu!!!

    Thanks a lot in advance!!

  3. My friend @Chief Quimby i tried what you suggested to me and it had absolute success.... The problem now is isolated but with no such big resistor... We used 2 resistors 1 kohm each on the 2 signals at the ECU harness and worked brilliant... Now i can actually see at what RPMs the engine is also there aren't any spikes on the rev count any more and can actually make pulls whenever i want...

Thanks a lot guys for the replies they really were very helpful!!!! :yahoo:

  4. We highly suspected that it was the trigger but with one other distributor did the same thing ... Maybe both distributors that checked had problem because i dont know how it performed at a stock car. The ECU after i start the car reads the correct rpms... But for example when i make 2-3 pulls under load or drive the car for a long distance or put the launch control switch for 1-2 times the ECU reads 46000 rpms.. My tuner said it must be the trigger inside the distributor...

My question is if it is a possible and easy way to isolate this problem or if i need to change in COP ignition because from now on it will have more of this problems if i replace my faulty distributor to a more normal one... Also when it misbehaves when i make pulls the car misfires and don't stop until i stop the engine for a while ....

I hope there is a logical explanation to all that....

  5. Hi guys and greetings from Cyprus!!!

I went today to my tuner and plug my ECU to make some corrections on the rev-limiter and launch control and came with the problem that after a short time working the ECU reads very high RPMs and starts misbehave at both revlimiter , launch and at pulls under load..

My question is if this is a common problem with the distributor when running on Standalone ECUs or this maybe caused from the years so if i change a distributor will be fixed.

Currently i am using a Adaptronic e420c ECU which is standalone ...

Does anyone had the same problem before with standalone ECUs and fixed it with other distributors or i will be needed to change in COP ignition once and for all to get rid of this issues???

Thanks a lot in advance any help will be accepted and respected and Happy Easter for all of you!!!! :)

  6. Hi guys and greetings from Cyprus!!!

I come up with this problem within these few days and don't really know what to check or what is the cause ...

My Ep91 Glanza V when i am trying to hit boost on every gear it starts to misfire.. This weird misfires come with a weird jump on the rev counter..

For example when i am at 4500 rpm and builts boost suddenly the rev counter jumps at 6000 rpm or 7500 rpm and it starts misfire...

Also this happens in daylight BUT at nights it boosts normally as it should and that's why it drives me crazy.

I changed distributor and re-gap the spark plugs.

If any one has any idea or had any experience with the same problem or anything similar please help because we are in the middle of tuning and i don't want to push the engine further without knowing what malfunctions.

Also the car runs a standalone Adaptronic e420c but is with the factory ignition system with just an MSD coil and aftermarket Spark leads..

Thanks in advance , any help or opinion would be accepted and respected!!!

  7. Ahh that's realy good to hear ill likely be visiting once a year or so once my dads back there. Would certainly be good to meet up with a few of you and get to see abit if the tuning scene over there!

That's pretty cool mate ... I will glad to meet you any time you come to Cyprus !!!! :)

    awesome!

when I went to cyprus (phapos) was brilliant loads of starlets I seen and civics :)

    nice one

I have friends in Paphos with very cool starlets and Glanzas ... Also Nicosia , where i live , has a lot of nice Starlets

    Cool dude!

    Ωραίος δικέ μου!

    I apreciate it man !!!!

Ευχαριστω πολυ μεγαλε , και εκει ελλαδα εχετε πολυ ωραια εργαλεια !!! :)

  8. What power you running on the starlet ???

    Sounds wicked at redline.

when does your power come in and full boost come

Currently i don't konw what power she runs but the car showed 280 whp with a big boost leak, at 1.8 bar dropping at 1.55 at high rpms during tuning session... After that for a weird reason the car decided to fix by itself and when i noticed that i went to my tuner and checked it on the dyno and the car pulled 318whp at stabled 1.85 bar...

I think the cause of this problem was a malfunction boost solenoid that didn't work in the tuning phase of the car and worked later.... Although because this is a severe problem we settle the boost down and decrease the ignition timing and put some more fuel in the map so it doesn't go boom until i can go for a map again...

The peak power was shown at 6000 rpm and full boost at third gear comes a little before 5000 rpm..

  9. Looks immense its a shame I only spotted one glanza when I was over last time and the guy was driving. My dad stayed there a few years and is looking to move back is there much of a scene for the starlets over there?

Unfortunately here is a small country but starlets/glanza are a huge part in the scene.... There are many nice Starlets in Cyprus and many mechanics had them as project cars and racing cars .... Unfortunately there aren't many events to participate in although you don't pass a day without seeing one cruising in the street !!! :)

  10. why is the video so short :) :)

Because the car isn't full prepared yet and is a down at horsepower and probably will finish tuning in the next week so we can upload more videos with multiple pulls !!! :)

    What management?

It is an Adaptronic e440d fully standalone ..
