  1. i used Direnza lowering springs on my old one, wasnt mega expensive, load of warranty on them too, drops it 40mm and theyre still on the car with the new owner after 3 years so think theyre pretty good
  2. ah sweet, was looking at getting some 16's probabaly did Dan, I've just come back from work through newport! the plan is first to sort out suspension, got some bags on order so i can slam it, in theory the bags should drop it another 3 inches when aired out!
  3. tried to google it and got very mixed answers, do bonnet spacers make any difference to cooling or aero etc? or are they just a cosmetic thing?
  4. 20 now, 17 when i bought my first
  5. so its been ages since i posted as its been a daily so not much has been done, suspension settled a little lower but its still to high, at the moment its got a straight pipe side exit which is being changed soon and having a silencer put back in as its a little to loud! still on stock wheels as the previous wheel deal fell through (matey never turned up!) the plan is to get a silencer back in the exhaust, and then start to look at cutting a coil out the lowering springs, as unfortunately coilovers are a fortune and can be a pain to get to work!
  6. what colour is the signal wires im looking for? think il wire it into the standard tacho for the minute, just so all the standard dials work
  7. looks like theres 2 types available for the GSI corsa, 240mm x 10mm solid discs, or 260mm x 24mm vented
  8. Thanks Colin, are the centre bores the same as well?? and should the corsa discs remove the need for longer hub studs?
  9. managed to get some levin twin pots and wondered what size discs are needed? i know the standard ones needed milling down and a spacer fitting to get them in. wasnt sure if there was a disc that had been found to be a straight fit? supposedly MK4 Astra 1.7 dics are a straight fit? Thanks Dan
  10. as im waiting for parts now i might try to get creative and find a rev counter clock that goes up to 9K and fit it in the binacle if that would work?
  11. Ah fair enough, saw your one Morgey on the tutorial the other day So might go with something similar to hide it a little bit
  12. would that work with the standard clocks? want to keep the dash etc fairly stockish looking. i know it sounds like a mis match in terms of saying i want the dash looking standard but its getting a cage and big brace in the back. want the outside to keep the SR look, but have a little bit of aggression too
  13. cheers guys! panhard rod is on order and got a Zisco X brace on order too, they should be here in around 3 weeks time. so when they turn up il be fitting them and sorting out any tracking that needs doing. might look into an Anti lift kit too just to stiffen the front up abit. In the mean time im hoping to look into getting the standard SR rev counter to working again, so not sure if i can tap into the 4age loom to get a tacho signal or not? but thats next on the list
  14. got some other bits done today, removed the front struts and untwisted and refitted the brake hoses with the peg in the right way this time! swapped the struts side to side and as Morgey said they were on the wrong sides! so now the brake lines fit in the brackets too. bled the brakes again and topped up fluid. got some other little bits of bracing ordered which should be here in a few weeks!
  15. little update on things, picked up some bits from Flynn yesterday, got started fitting them today, oil pressure and oil temp gauges fitted, fixed the dash lights too as they werent working before. had the basic loom from when they were in the car before, cut most of the crimps off and soldered them back together, i think it looks a little neater. soldered all the connections under the dash to, then wrapped the whole loom to tidy up the wiring and make it neat and tidy. got a TOMs lightweight flywheel too but think il fit that when i next do the clutch. panhard rod on order hopefully so should
  16. Are the zisco x braces still available to buy? couldnt find it on theyre website so im guessing not unless im looking in the wrong place Thanks Dan
  17. feeling left out! everyone has sexy cages!
  18. im already trying to resist ordering one right now! dont tempt me!
  19. just for peace of mind id rather go new, and i like the idea of being able to top up the history with receipts
  20. looking around to insure the SR, best i can find at the moment is just over a grand, im still 20, 2 years no claims and thats with everything declared on the car too. adrian flux are the only ones who seem half reasonable. anyone else got any ideas?? Thanks Dan
  21. came to about 715 quid including postage, income tax etc on it from RHD japan so still cheaper than in the uk, think thats what il go for
  22. looking at a 6 point cusco for RHD Japan as its cheaper than buying one in the uk, seems pretty good too
  23. looking at getting a cage for the SR, its had a cusco in it before so looking at another cusco one unless theres a better one? also deciding between a 6 point and 7 point? any real differences other than the extra brace. im aware its probably going to stiffen the car up and the roads near me are abit hit or miss as to how good they are, so dont know if that extra brace makes a big difference? and last question was best place to get one? looking at tuning developments at the moment Thanks Dan
