  1. Ok mate, think I'll be selling the chocolate clutch then lol. Can't believe TD use them for their builds. 😞 Sounds good. As long as im not waiting weeks and weeks. Is this definitely the one i need? Says its for a levin. http://www.rhdjapan.com/orc-309d-single-plate-metal-clutch-kit-ae86.html Cheers Mike
  2. Ok mate. Where's cheapest for a comp clutch? I have not long fitted a brand new flywheel and dont really fancy the near 700 spend on the ORC lol. Cheers
  3. Cheers lads some really interesting/worrying info here as i have already purchased another spec a while ago. Might have to get rid now lol. Like the sound of the ORC but it's rather costly and how long will i have to wait for it to arrive from Japan? Also how good are comp clutches?
  4. Ok mate going to have this one rebuilt with new bearings before i put it back in but this has happened to me twice. Might just be bad luck with two dodgy gearboxes or these clutches are failing me. Anyone else here running 300+ on a spec clutch?
  5. Ok buddy, just worried as I've heard a lot of bad things about them recently. Just hope that the input shaft bearings are my problem, if not then im stuck lol!! Thanks
  6. Would people definitely not use the spec clutch for when I rebuild this thing then? Thanks Mike
  7. Sounds nice mate, Just a touch too late tho 😞. Picked up a box on Wednesday and im going to fit the lsd i purchased from my guy^^^^!Still how much you wanting for everything needed to swap from standard diff to your lsd kit with the bracket and shorter shaft? Also what clutch is it you have?
  8. Made 305 on a tdo4 hybrid. Can remember the torque.Cheers
  9. Ok bud think i might go for it tbf. Can't believe these SPEC clutches are that bad!! Have cost me a fortune😞 Thanks Mike
  10. Wow pretty steep then. And yes, your right. I have spoken to mike about it and he says it cant be balancing as it would be pretty much knackered by now lol. The motor has ran mint since I've had it back so i have been sure this isn't my problem. Cheers for reply bud!!
  11. Definitely a underlying issue mate. Second clutch went just after i ran it in and took input shaft splines with it. Am i right in thinking the only problem it could possibly be on the engine side is crank balancing? Thanks
  12. Ok buddy, I'll bare that in mind. What sort of money we talking for one of these? I thought 330 was steep for the spec lol !! Thanks
  13. Noo way!! Wish i knew this before. Had the whole car built at tuning developments and that is their cluch of choice (not cheap either). What other clutches are recommended for this power? Cheers Mike
  14. Not sure where the noise is from mate. All i know is that it only makes it when its idleing in neutral. Put your foot down on the cluch and the noise stops. Is there any checks i can do engine side? Thanks
  15. Ok bud i will bare that in mind. Could a dodgy release bearing really strip the clutch and shaft? Both of them i removed looked sound. I have just brought another spec clutch. I didn't know these things weren't rated. What would be the best clutch for 300hp ? Thanks Mike
  16. Yes mate, friction plate was stripped and so was the input shaft. So i replaced both cluch and brougt a new box and the same happend a month later 😞 This time round i have took the fly off and had it skimmed just to be sure. It was definitely torqued when i removed it lol. Thanks for replying Mike
  17. Easy mate. Im using the release that comes with the spec 6 clutch. I think the noise is related to trans issues im having and im sure that this isn't the reason im stripping my input shafts and clutch lol. Thanks for reply Mike
  18. Cheers for reply buddy. Just tried working that photobucket but wouldnt let me upload photos 😞 Thanks Mike
  19. Hello people. As title says, i have had a major headache with said problem for some time now. Had the glanza forged at TD a while back. When I collected the car there was a slight tapping noise on idle. I was told this was piston slap as the car was warming. I later found out this was not the case. When the clutch was disengaged the noise would stop. We put this down to excessive play in the input shaft. The inevitable happened and the splines on both the input shaft and clutch where stripped. Had the gearbox opened up and the bearings wernt great but not too bad. I purchased another box local
  20. Ok thanks bud il drop you a pm
  21. As title says, after a good condition box with no damaged gears. Would prefer LSD.
  22. Ahh bummer, would have just gave u it aswell lol!! But no danger bud.
