  1. That's shit. Your house insurance might cover it though. Really worth checking out.
  2. I think so mate, I recognize that from atleast one uni I visited... I can't wait though, really buzzing for it. You starting in September right?
  3. Hey bud, I've been provisionally accepted if I get MMM in my BTEC. Doing Motorsport Engineering too, but at Oxford...Brookes Haha. The course sounds ace! And the single seater race car stuff is done in your own time called Formula Student I can't wait, hope I get in like!
  4. Alright, thinking about this logically. I think you know that doing something to their cars will cause a massive problem to you. Engine oil would be funny, but I think they'd get you back. Put some diseasel in a spray bottle and spray some on the windscreen as you walk past. Thats reet funny. Try ringing like Damien said, that'd be good. But alternately, keep ringing the police or just ignore it. Sucks to be in that situation though mate!
  5. I know OF someone who's done it, I think he's running a tad under 400bhp. He doesn't use forums though I don't think, I'll try to find out some more stuff.
  6. Yeah, I know what you mean about the feedback. We think the turbos blown a seal or maybe a pipe. But aside from that, still not worth it. Now my mates stuck back looking for another car. It's a tad annoying.
  7. Ha, I skipped from page one to page five. In that time you went from just getting on the boost, to looking at some hard boost (TD04/hybrid). Dayum! I want boost!
  8. You bastard. Your night sounds like a reet good time!
  9. Hahaha, MULTI-SCORE!! I swear I live in Emmerdale sometimes, over here in the Shire, pheasants galore!
  10. Bit of a long story but after much looking we found a car that sounded reasonable for my mate and the ebay listing was running out that night. Course we had to view the car so we shot up there (just over an hour drive) to have a look at it. Was dark by the time we got there, but I had a good look round and it all seemed really good, immaculate really (well, close). We then won the item on ebay and today went up there to get it, thatâ??s when everything went wrong. I'll list the rest; it'll be easier to read. In chronological order... When we first viewed the car he said he had a solid buyer at £1390, 'if you bid 1400, youâ??ll get it.' he said. Bit weird that this bidder couldn't push a tenner. But it was obvious he wanted £1400 so fairplay. After bidding £1400, we won. So went to view the car in the day. He came round his street corner with his mate in a van as soon as we parked up, bang on time. Got the car out of the garage and immediately closed the door, as soon as possible. Bit of oil on the shelf where the bonnet catch is, seemed a bit too fresh. After inspection a lot more was above the manifold on the bonnet closer to the side with the turbo on. All the engine bay felt oily, but as if had been recently wiped 'clean' (still slimey). Okay, I was a bit iffy, he said the previous night he was a pretty reasonable mechanic. Then he said he had no idea what it was from and I would know more (I don't know much really). Paperwork. Having a quick browse through, as you do. I find a hand written receipt for and I quote, 'GT Starlet - £900 *registration number* - EP82-*chassis number* - signature'. He wanted £1400 right? Why the hike, why did he say he bought it for £3000, that he got a bit ripped off. He very quickly said that it was for an engine; he then grabbed it off me and said he'd keep it. He never mentioned an engine change until then. On the paperwork note again, a proper garage receipt with proper print, said there were two faulty wires with the electric windows (or something of the sort). Erm, it has windy windows. Needless to say, I politely told him to get stuffed as I had no idea what it was, mileage and all. I couldn't have my mate (clueless on cars) buy it. Whats your thoughts on this? Happened to you? Any advice? Real shame as it looked really good... Here's the advert. http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/977095.htm Cheers for your help guys, Mike
  11. Those 16v's are great little cars. Well understated, all people talk about are the Williams and the RSi's. Good luck with getting a V.
  12. Jeez guys, he doesn't know what happened, he said that. He only knows what they have figured out from the scene, and that might not be accurate. I don't know what your drivings like buddy, but from reading your posts you don't seem like a plank, I hope it turns out you weren't in the wrong and it was for another reason. I wouldn't worry yourself over liability for a little bit... Glad your well though, how badly injured are you now? Any lasting affects? Sorry bud, Mike
  13. Not normally into supercars, but fair play to that! He must be minted, I'd love a 'friend' like that haha.
  14. Yeah, thats german, all I can read is that he is new, here is the parts on his car and he doesn't have any audio... Proper ace car though!
  15. I'm not addicted... ;)
