  1. right, heres british law..

you arent aloud to touch the c*** that breaks into your house.

even if you walk down the stairs with a shotgun, you will get done and they get off scotfree.

Reading a variety of papers can give you a more balanced review of current affairs, some papers lean towards different political stances and can give slightly bias information.

I understand the feelings in this thread and I am by no means belittling your opinions, I agree with a lot of what has been said, but some assumptions have been made that I feel are in slightly unknown territory. As I am led to believe you are allowed to defend yourself, but can't use unnecessary force without due cause.

If someone harmed someone in my house believe me when I say I'd do everything I can to get them to the floor, but if I walked downstairs and a teenage kid was rummaging near my computer I would not stab him in the front.

About our government though, I have some very strong opinions, a lot of stuff is wrong with it.

    Cheers.

  2. I've been disliking Top Gear more and more recently. Seems to be all entertainment and no useful reviews. I used to enjoy the old top gear (search for Toyota MR2 and GT4 old Top Gear), they need to find a better mix of information and entertainment.

Don't kill me, but I don't dislike Fifth Gear. In fact I'll pretty much watch anything with cars as a focal point. I like Jeremy, although will be the first to say he is a bit of a nob.

    Cheers.

  3. I've PM'd a few people but are still waiting for a reply. Is there no easy way of finding out? Like surely there is a defined reason why they have different splines (like maybe only the newer models after '96 have 23/30 splines etc)?

Can anyone else help? Could really do with this by saturday...

Is it a tough job to replace? Because if it's an easy job I'll have a go at it...

    Thanks again.

[EDIT] Just spoke to Jay, he says there's no defined way of knowing without checking it out by taking it off, unfortunately I am no mechanic (far from it, an engineer :o) but would this job be an easy one?

[EDITX2] Now a website is saying it's 23 outer 21 inner! Which is also what the parts service place said it could be, but everyone (and everywhere) said it was wither 23 or 30...? This is way to complicated...

  4. Didn't notice this, but I'd be up for meeting with you guys sometime (although my cars crap!). I used to go out driving quite a lot in the summer, but recently haven't done any in ages. We should meet up sometime, give me a shout if you fancy it!

    What you guys driving?

    Cheers.

  5. Hey guys, I know this isn't the correct place for it, but I need the information fairly quickly. I have been waiting for a reply in the Technical Discussion forum to no avail.

I need to find out what CV joint to buy for my car. It is an EP82 import N/A 1995. Does anyone know what CV joint pline set up this is? I am going to order it in from Part Service (http://www.partservice.co.uk/) asap.

Can anyone give me as much information as they can on the correct CV joint? Perhaps if it's the same as a GT by chance?

Thanks a lot guys, sorry for the hassle.

  6. Sorry to double post, but I now (think I) know what I am meant to be buying. I am looking for an outer CV joint for the passenger side, I have a boot for it. I need to know what spline set up I am looking for, is it 23/23 or 23/30? I looked at some places and found a joint for £44.50. But need to check that I am buying the right product.

    Cheers.

  7. your driveshaft isnt knocking, its a metal pole. theres nothing to knock.

your CV is knocking. you can get a new CV from camskill for about 60 quid if i remember rightly.

I thought that was what I had replaced for my MOT... Ahhh, looking at Camskill it looks like I bought an outer CV boot kit and I now need an outer CV joint kit. Does that sound reet? I wish I knew what I was talking about... There's two there, which one should I get? Also, what model is my car? It looks like an EP82 turbo with a *very* slightly different back and no scoop on the bonnet. It's also a jap import if that helps...

    Cheers again!

    Mike

  8. Hey guys, I recently had my car MOT'd (passed) but it needed a new CV joint on the front passenger side wheel. /Backgroundinfo

It's been about a week since my MOT and now apprently my driveshaft's knocking, it only clicks when I am turning whilst moving. I had a mate look at it (guy who fixed it for MOT) and he said from toyota the part would cost ~£200.

Does anyone know if I can get the part for cheaper since £200 is a bit steep for my liking (or is that the going rate?).

    Cheers,

    Mike

[EDIT]My Starlet is an EP82 N/A (I think), there's a pic under my name and I can post more if needed.

  9. Hey guys and girls,

I noticed a little while ago that my oil temperature gauge isn't working. Is this an easy, inexpensive job? Or (knowing my luck) be a pointlessly expensive and time consuming job?

It is weird though, when I start the car, it says its below cold, then when I turn it off (after driving for a while) it goes slightly further down...

Any advice on the matter would be greatly appreciated! I have an EP82 NA.

    Cheers.

  10. Hey guys, this is a website that checks if your cars are insured! MID is the Motor Insurance Database, which the police use to check you vehicle is insured.

I know it sounds silly, but it's worth a check seeing as 2 of my mates weren't even insured, though they paid the insurance company and one of them relised that his Vespa and his VW van isn't insured!

    Good luck!

    Cheers.

[EDIT] Smart ol' me forgot the link...

  11. I wasn't going to reply to this thread but !Rush! you got it bad! That really sucks, I'm sorry about that.

My opinion is the same as many other peoples. Being accused of things aren't nice, I drive sensibly and often get people looking at me like I'm a shit driver because of my age. No, I don't have as much experiance as you, but yes, I do know how to use a roundabout. It's a roundabout not a bloody stop-about! Don't go unless you can get to the exit without blocking other people!

    *Ahem*

Not sure if I should say this on a public forum, but I ONLY muck around in EMPTY car parks IN and industrial estate with NO houses nearby.

    Cheers.

[EDIT] Missed the program, anybody know if it's online? Cheers.

  12. Well, Glanza Al has found an ingenious loophole, that's how he's done it

Would you like to impart this knowledge with us by chance? :D

But seriously, would it change his situation if a few other like-minded people knew this loophole? I personally would love to know.

i wouldnt laugh quite so mate, i knew someone who was 19/20 with a fully modified single turbo supra running 600bhp, he is not dead :D

Supra single turbos are crazy good and crazy expensive, more so than the TT's. I'd get steelies on the back of a Supra if I had one, wheelspinning, smoking action baby! (And cheep like the budgie for tyres!)

    Cheers.

  13. Alreet guys? I just got a PM from Jay (what a legend!), he sent all my car info over.

    Here is what it is:-

    "Engine code : AGMSK

    It's a 4E-FE

    Capacity : 1331cc

    0-60 booktime : 9.6secs

    Max output : 100PS @ 6,600rpm

    Max torque : 11.8kg-m @ 5,200rpm

So basically she's a 100bhp JDM non-turbo model. I've seen these engines in the AWD EP85's imported locally. "

Couldn't have asked for more really, well chuffed with 100bhp, seems so much for the first car

Just have to make sure no theives get to her

On the lookout for Quadlights, anyone point me in the right direction?

    Cheers!

  14. Welcome Mike, wow a EP82 S?!?! So how different is that from UK N/A EP82?

    Enjoy your stay

I really don't know, if anyone can shed any light on this I would love to know. If I can be of help by taking a picture then I will!

silly me, these are the most powerful n/a ones arent they duh

Really? What do you mean, compared to the other EP82's or the other Starlets as well? Any idea on the power on it? I've got it to 118mph on a private road... it could go faster too.

    Thanks for any help guys!

    Cheers,

  15. Thanks for the info guys, really useful stuff to remember.

I was still wondering what mod's I should do on it? I mean, I don't want to change the wheels or engine just yet, but literally something to change the car so it's properly mine. I was thinking headlights, changing the actual casing to something nicer (I have seen some very nice ones out there) and the bulbs? What'd you guys think? Anything else I could do?

thats 4 wheel drive is it not?!

I wish! I haven't checked. It doesn't go round corners that well at all... haha. Red faces all round if it was eh?!

    Cheers guys!

    Mike

  16. I think you might be the first EP82 S on the site

I guess thats my car number/name? Sorry, haven't a clue. Is there a list of all the number/names out there for all the cars?

Looks good dude! Nice to see another N/A about! Welcome along!

Sorry again, but whats an N/A?

    Haha, I really must suck...

    Cheers!

  17. Hey guys, I'm Mike. I recently bought a Toyota Starlet S, 1332cc Jap import. £500.

I really like this car (maybe its because its my first car), love driving it! Clocked up 360 miles in one week.

I am interested in mod'ing it a little, but nothing major, don't want to bump up insurance

I was thinking mayve headlights or any interior options? Also, do you know how I should get out the dent on the drivers side wing? 'Tis quite big

Here are some pictures of it.
