    Description:

Here for sale is my 1996 Toyota starlet Glanza v

I really really regret having to put this car up for sale but needs must. This car is such a pleasure to drive and is ridiculous when it comes on boost. And when on boost it pulls really hard all the way to the red line. Around the corners it acts like it is on rails such a fun car to drive. And turns heads everywhere it goes.

    Good points:

Engine does not leak oil unlike so many 4efte's out there. The body work of this car in immaculate. There is zero rust on any of the arches and the underside of the car is also rust free. The enkie wheels have been powered coated and are also immaculate. All discs and pads have plenty of meat left on them. The TD04 turbo was fully rebuilt and balanced by midland turbos and they have done a fantastic job spools up really fast and the penny has been welded correctly so that will not cause any issues. The WEPR manifold, downpipe and screamer pipe are all in perfect condition no flat spots or cracks. This car comes with the super rare buddy club spec 2 exhaust which sounds amazing and is very loud it is also in perfect condition without any blows. The front mount intercooler has had all its fins straightened out to give an extremely clean look to the car. All of the intercooling piping is fine with zero boost leaks. Clutch is only a few months old barley 2000miles on it, as it is an unsprung clutch it is either on or off but as soon as you get use to the feel it will feel lovely to drive with. The AD08 tyres havent seen many miles have loads left on. Servicing is taken out every 3000 miles without exception.

    Bad points:

    Just needs a speedo cable.

Bad points - The car was listed as a Cat D. Many years ago it had some parts replaced by insurance and therefore it's a cat D. The damaged parts were replaced with genuine Toyota parts for which I have receipts for the work and the body is straight, no damage to the floor pan. The parts that were replaced were-

    Front bumper

    Headlight

    Wing

    Crash bar

This does not affect the cars condition now nor does it affect the insurance.

Feel free to ask any questions. I have a full folder of all the cars information.

  3. Update time:

So one day I was driving about and I noticed my car was not happy. It drove horribly and it didn't want to boost so I pulled up and heard some not very nice noises coming from the engine.

So I decided to leave no stone unturned to find out this issue.

First things first drain the oil and pop off the sump to look for any metal shaving but good news there wasn't any so I left that there.

Next the engine was compression tested and the results where not good at all. Extremely low across all 4 of the cylinders.

So just to check the rocker cover was removed and to my surprise the cam shafts where actually finger tight :( which got me worried extremely worried.

At this point I though the best thing to do would be to remove the engine and have a good look round the block and check everything else on the engine. After torquing the cams down the engine was timed up and put back in the car.

And we'll the car would not start at all just wouldn't fire.

    20160807_170414_zps2vc7dzpu.jpg broken :'(

So at this point tuning developments was my best option. So the car was sent to Mike and he found many issues with the car.

    Intake gasket leaking

    Injector wiring was damaged

Injector 1 only worked when it wanted to and the other 3 had their own issues too.

    Many many oil leaks

    Water pump was leaking

Both auxs belts and timing belt where not in good shape and needed changing

The cam timing was way out

Coolant temp sensor plug was replaced

All these issues have now been fixed by tuning developments and it has had a new gasket kit and the engine has been checked over to make sure there are no other issues. They also compression tested the engine with good results this time 170+ on all 4 cylinders.

Which makes me think it was either a dodge compression tester or the loose cams that where causing the earlier low results on the compression.

    So Mike has:

Put in a new set of 430cc injectors and new seals

    A full gasket kit

Repaired the injector wiring and put a new plug on the coolant temp sensor

Sorted all of the oil leaks (thank god)

A brand new Toyota water pump

The engine has been timed up correctly with a new timing belt and tensioner kit

Both auxs belts have been replaced and tensioned correctly

I am so glad all these issues have been sorted now. The engine is very healthy and has no more issues woop woop

The proof of this is when it went back on the dyno to check the car is running as it should and produces the power it should.

    Which it did!!!!!!!

    240bhp @ 1bar

On the up side had one hell of an awsome time at JAE even if my glanza didn't make it. It was awsome to catch up with everyone and have a good time.

Pictures will be on the way soon as the glanza gets home on Saturday.

    Baby-faced assassin out!! :)

  4. Hi guys and girls

Just wanted some advise on how I would go about feeding my screamer pipe back into my exhaust.

As the car is used as a daily the screamer is just starting to get alittle bit annoying. I run a buddy club spec 2 exhaust and that is way loud enough so the screamer just pushes it over the top.

    I have a TD04 WEPR ham horn kit on my 1996 ep91 glanza v.

Any advice would be appreciated :)

    Cheers

  5. Well it has been a while but I will have a big update coming up!

Long story short, I have had issues with my glanza so it was sent away to the world on tuning developments but now it is coming home after having a sizable amount of money spent on it :( but I am glad it's coming home.

I will update with many many pictures and information and videos.

But the car has actually made more power than it did last time it was at tuning developments

    240bhp @1.0 bar

    Update soon.......

  6. Hi

Could anyone help me out with timing of the cam shafts on a 4efte gt engine

I have timed the engine up with the 4e marking on the cam pully and I have timed the bottom crank pully up

But I am unsure if the cam gears are also out of time.

Because the timing has been messed with and the car is no longer starting

    Really need help

    Cheers guys
