  1. Trying to make the glanza look a bit nicer until I can get a respray sorted, looks better but not good enough that it's passable. Will do though. Wasn't too concerned about the bits getting covered with the side skirts as I used an epoxy primer to seal everything.

  2. Alright guys I'm majorly stuck, my glanza is running a Hydra stand alone ECU. Not got an issue with this ECU, my car runs great so I don't really want to change it.

However I don't have software for it and I can't find it when looking on google so won't be able to tune the car. Was hoping to purchase a hybrid td04l and get it dyno'd but this has left me stuck.

My ECU is the 2.5 version but looking like whoever made it released a 2.7 version and stopped all support of the previous versions and removed them from it's website. Also most threads are from 8 or 9 years agos so any download links are now inactive.

Need to spend more time looking but hoping someone out there might have it or know someone that does.

  3. Yeah I found the astra the best option, I also bought yaris 1.5 discs to try and they fit great except for the fact that they aren't centered in the carrier so would need some kind of spacer made to bring them out.

My astra discs are 256mm, these are the ones I bought.

Terrible picture but the one on the left is the before and the one on the right is the one that's been machined. If you look closely you can see there's a difference lol.

And how they fit in the carrier.

What inner diameter did they machine them to?

Sorry mate, I have no idea. I took the hub off and gave it to them with the discs and told the guy what I wanted. Didn't think to measure them myself.

  5. Sound quite similar to the ones I bought than, I got astra 1.6 discs and they almost fit over the glanza hubs. Only cost me 20 quid to get them machined out and another 20 for sprigot rings to be made to fit inbetween the disc and hub. So an extra 20 quid each time isn't the end of the world.

  6. Yeah I'm mostly wanting to sort my central locking and have it so I can remote central lock it but some of the features of the Sigma and Cobra sound quite good. At the moment I'm leaning more towards the Sigma alarm.

  7. Can you update when you've tried the discs? I used astra discs for mine, they didn't need machining down however the inner part of the disc needed machining so that it could fit over the hub. Would like a direct fit next time I need to change discs.

I've had cobra, toad, clifford etc systems in various cars, by far the most easy to use and set is the sigma with its keypad, standard on pooburu,s

The GT has an excalibur system, think theres something daft like 25 different settings/options lol

Had a quick look at the sigma S30 alarm, looks quite good. I like the sound of the features it has.

  9. Hey guys, I want to get an alarm installed on my Glanza and I've been looking but it's a total mindfield. Loads of different brands and models, I'm not after anything fancy. Just something that has an alarm and immobilser, would be nice if the fob has a blank key that folds into the fob and not super expensive.

Just looking for suggestions? Have been looking at Cobras.

That’s a project car I would say I’m jealous of, and if that’s the garage of your new house then, same again!
Must take the time to read through your thread properly, at a glance looks like you’ve saved this Glanza

Thanks mate, it's not quite a R32 GTR which is the dream car but it's the best I could afford the now and what with skyline prices going bonkers the last few years I wasn't sure I'd ever be able to afford one in the future if I didn't do it now. Crazy thing is the glanza is more fun to drive, the skyline is so easy to drive it's borderline boring where as the glanza pulls hard on boost so you have to make sure you've got a good grip on the steering wheel.

Aye the garage is amazing, it wasn't that long ago that I was doing repairs at the side of the road but I've been incredibly lucky and things have slotted in place over the years that allowed me and my gf to purchase something proper special and I was sold on this place when we saw the garage. Means the glanza gets parked inside and out the elements now so she's getting the treatment she deserves. I think that was the main issue with this one, just needed a bit of love.

  11. Car passed MOT and I managed to give it a blast a few times last year but I think the turbo needs rebuilt as it smokes a lot when it goes on boost. Thinking of sending it away to get sorted but not sure if I want to just get it rebuilt or rebuilt and upgraded. Not after more power, so will probably just leave the turbo standard.

Custom brake lines I got made for the levin brakes are too long. They might have been alright at standard length but with the banjo connector angled instead of being straight. The guys I got them off of offered to modify them for free but I think I'll just get new ones ordered because it's been like 6 months since I contacted them. Woops.

Also got a new house and project car

  12. Toyota numberplate surround and new number plate for front bumper, originally would have mounted number plate lower but this covers the holes where the old number plate was screwed into. Can flip bracket round once the bodywork is sorted if I want to.

  13. I'm not sure if I'm being silly or the size is weird, I went to my local fitting place and the closest one we found was I think an M14 metric fine but it's just ever so slightly too big. I think I'll visit the Toyota dealership and see how much they are. The reason I was looking elsewhere is the bolts that were fitted don't have a long enough unthreaded section to cover the entire length of the mounting hole of the shock absorber. It's obviously fine as it never caused any issues before so I'll see what I can get from Toyota.

  14. So finally got my levin twinpots installed. That's the last of the big stuff that needed doing, now it's a case of all the little things that shouldn't take too long and it will be ready for it's MOT. I just want it back on the road now so I can actually drive it for a bit so I'm not fussed on how it looks as long as it runs well. Hopefully be getting a new house with a decent garage soon so I can revisit everything in a couple of years if I'm still interested in it and get the shell resprayed etc.
