  3. hey idrees, do you still have that front bumper for sale in the pic with the fogs? I could be coming up your way to look at an s14a in tyne and wear so could kill 2 birds with one stone if i get the bumper on my way?? How much do you want for it? not that fussed about fogs as my car doesnt have the wiring for them anyways. Cheers
  4. Ok so ive got the main plug off, the earth lead thats held on with a little nut, the bolt thats used to hold it in position after its adjusted and the big bolt that it hinges on, off. So why oh why will my sodding alternator still not come off, its moving fairly freely but it still seems to be hinging about where the bolt goes through the bottom. Any ideas? I can only assume it needs a very big pry bar, or im missing something obscenely obvious. Thanks George
  5. i know it should, but ive felt all around it and just cant feel anything, and because of its location i just cant get a good look at it. If anyone has a picture of it off the car that would be a massive help. im not sure if im missing something obvious too, maybe im supposed to remove the plastic cover thing? It looks like the plug has been podged onto it. So bloody frustrating.
  6. My car has had trouble starting recently and ive figured out that it seems to be the alternator on its way out. This came to a heads today when it pretty much siezed up and was making the belt squeel like fook. Ive loosened it off, but cant figure out how to get one of the electrical connectors off. One of them is held on with a nut, easy enough to work out, but the other which is more of an actual plug seems to be impossible to remove :-( does anybody have any idea how to get the fecker off. Also, where can i pick up an alternator from, is that the kinda thing halfords randomly have or is i
  7. Yeah but in my opinion lane choice is to do with other road users, not to do with how fast your going, so if you were on your own on the road then you were in the wrong, if they were just driving up your arse then they were in the wrong. Just my opinion tho.
  8. it depends on if your were in the fast lane and not overtaking anyone, if you were just sat there with nobody else around then IMO you were in the wrong, i would have just undertaken you and given you the finger if it was me, if im honest.
  9. oh right, i knew ther would be some explanation behind it! @ 5T4R7ET - il be going into final year of the BEng, what year is your cousin in?
  10. Im at brunel, and yeah my degree is motorsport also. Dunno how your doing it sparky without maths an physics, the whole reason i took up physics was because every single university wanted c's or b's in both at a-level.
  11. mechanical engineering, basically maths and physcis :-( working for a motorsport transmissions company on placement, only 2 weeks left now though, final year begins in september!! eep
  12. Congrats to everyone getting there grades coming in, im on placement year from uni so for the first time in 6 years im not actually thinking about exams at this time of year and its bloody amazing!! Definately dont agree with "kara & Gav" though, just because you know people who went to uni and now work at mcdonalds that just means they are drop outs and wouldnt achieve anything whether they went to uni or not. All its about is trying, if you go through uni, which you have to nowadays for alot of jobs, then you have to work very hard. But uni/college isnt the be all and end all. There are
  13. boot floor was all wrinkled, written off. ironically, its only because of that car getting written off and me getting injury compensation that i can afford to keep the new starlet, which is better anyway, so it worked out quite well lol.
