  1. Item Condition: 6/10

    Price & Conditions: 900 ONO

    Item Description:

Black Citreon Saxo 1.6vtr for sale. 91,000 miles on the clock. 11 months MOT, taxed until November.

Bought last month as a run around as my current car was in for repairs. No longer need this car. Starts first time everytime, runs nicely for its age, ive been covering over 60miles a day in this car, im open to offers. Good wee runner.

Car is good bodywork condition, there are few slight dings here and there, but there are no deep scratches etc. Surprisingly tidy given its age.

Interior had been well kept, no tears, burns, rips etc in the seats.

    Bad Points -

Requires new back box as exhaust is blowing, could maybe just do with a weld. Engine Management light is on due to Lambda sensor needing replaced.

  2. Car will be back next week buddy, but wont be on the road for a while until i am happy with it, got a load of work on it to do, so im cutting about in VTR just now

Wiring is just time consuming thats all, it will get there eventually!

  3. You vouched for the car did you not?? I wasnt aware of the wiring issue UNTIL I GOT THERE, dom explained it would be a 5 minute job his "burd" apparantly put too much stuff in the glove box and closed it, and ever since there was an issue "but it wouldnt be very hard to fix at all", actually turned out to be two hours, then there was the purge valve, the incorrectly mounted engine (that wasnt too major by the way), and the ABS didnt come on until i was over an hour away, so it was obvious to me someone had switched it off manually without fixing the problem!

I did ask for interior pics! VIA TEXT! I didnt get them, all i got told was, car is immaculate....other potential buyers asked for photos of interior in this thread, and they didnt get them, i went on the guys word for travelling down there......your clearly not getting the point of my thread......

40 quid? where you getting these prices? dont forget the labour time of a mechanic to fix it!

The wiring all in, has to come to four hours labour.

40 quid compensation.....hahaha, only if you knew the bill that im left with. But its not the money im bothered about. Its the principal of lying about the car in the first place.

Point is boy knew i was travelling from Glasgow to meet him, he could have gave me a better heads up, simple as that, i got there and i knocked a few hundred quid off for the issues i could see, returned, straight to garage, and theres a mountain of issues needing sorted that you cant just tell straight off by looking at. Thats my point...

  4. I know i have no comeback, thats not what im posting for, nor do i want some form of reimbursement. I did toy with the idea of even mentioning this, but at the end of the day, if either of these two guys post something up for sale, its best to be wary.

I know i bought the car, but i bought it on the basis of the faults i could see, and determine myself. But when your asked, anything else i should know? And they say no? Pretty low.

    That is all.

  5. Quite aware of how much I paid....

Three wheel bearings, engine mounted incorrectly, wiring issues... Its alot of money for someone who doesn't have mechanical experience....

End of the day I drove 8 hours to see the car in the ad. What I seen was different. Yes I didn't have to buy it....but when your told it has no issues other than what you see, then find out that's not the case, do you expect me to say nothing? Vouching for a car that is marked as "excellent" is a bit low. Just making people aware should you or dom advertise anything, to be wary. Its quite clear things were hidden away from potential buyers.

So called problems? They are the problems that have been found. Not to mention the molested interior which was never described in the ad? Not a big deal to replace, but again my point is after travelling so far to see the car described as excellent and not getting that, is what pisses me off. Again yeah i could have driven back home, but i decided to buy it and return the car into an "excellent" state.

    Honesty goes a far way.

  6. The add itself was probly his 1st post which straight away should be classed as suspicious. Then again there is no excuse for trying to rip someone off there are a lot of people on here who are not competent when it comes to cars and may have paid well over the odds for this. Hopefully u manage to get your issues with it sorted anyway. Where abouts in Glasgow are you?

I remember when he first advertised it, it was at 4grand.....i refused to pay that for it, even if it was mint! in the end i paid 2800, but by the time ive got all the issues sorted, will be way above that......

Im from a place called Drymen mate, near Loch Lomond?? What about yourself?

As above realy. is wrong when people talk shite about whats done or what condition its in. least the warning is out now and i would of spoken to td first to confirm the car as they are good lads there.

I dont think TD even had anything to do with this car.......just the issues with it, would they real have been so incompetent? I dont think so.....or maybe they did build it, but Endless times just ran it into the ground.....

Cars being worked on as we speak.....Only upside is, its already got the TD04 there, which saves me money as i wanted to upgrade anyway...

That's crap man :( hate when people arnt honest about things

I know, it sucks ass, especially when you drive 8 hours! I got there, car looked fresh, but on closer inspection, the alloys need refurbed, the bodywork was far from mint, but it wasnt poor either, there was two massive holes in the center of the dash where gauges used to be, the drivers side a pillar cover had been cut to fuck...for whatever reason, and there were no sun visors :S

In hindsight, i shouldnt have bought it, i shouldve walked away, but after travelling 8 hours in what was essentially a smart car, i decided fuck it, project......

Doesnt take away the fact, him and his mate lied about the condition of the car...

  7. This is a very shoddy seller......wouldnt trust him or his mate with anything they sell. Car is in some nick!

Some issues ive found so far.....

Near Side Front wheel bearing Very Rough When Rotated

Both Rear wheel bearings Very Rough When Rotated

Wiring Fault With Aftermarket ECU Harness Behind Glovebox (causing revs to rise and fall)

ABS Sensor Open Circuit & Suspected ABS ECU Wiring Harness Fault. (ABS Light on)

The mint "body work" is far from mint......

Not to mention the unsafe mounted engine.....

Luckily i got him down few hundred quid, but to post this as "mint" was wrong.

Drove 8 hours to view this, on the basis it was "mint" decided after telling the seller its issues i would offer him X amount. Which was accepted......Ofcourse i didnt have to buy it, was my own choice, thats accepted. But when a buyer asks, is there any issues that cant be seen to the eye straight away and you turn around and so no, its pretty crap, until the buyer gets it home and finds a mountain of issues.......

Poor Glanza........never mind its a long term project now!

    Just found.....

    Rear engine mount is insecure,

Purge valve poorly located and ticking
