  1. ok guys, I've had a think about this and I've decided to actually do this in a RELIANT ROBIN.....not the Glanza.

I've now decided on a place to go as well, we will be going to Monaco Raceway, and yes i will be doing a lap in the monaco GP circuit LOL, and then a few other paces after.

the reason I've decided to go for a Reliant Robin is because it will be alot more interesting and i think

the Glanza will get wrecked if i go in it.

heres the car im looking at......

    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/reliant-robin-lx_W0Q...id=p3286.c0.m14

if people are serious about doing this then let me know as i will be getting a list together in the next few days.

    cheers guys

put an outboard on it and sail across....

  2. she says she loves the car (i sold cash to a dodgy trader and she bought it off him)

she promised to look after it :o

she also said shes gonna pass it on to her teenage son though.... :D

still looks great with the rims i put on it :p

have to put up with evo i guess... :D:p

  3. my 1st starlet (4 dr n/a) drove past me again the other day goddamit, shes taunting me i swear!

i sold it for silly money when i was a bit short :o

actually spoke to her in the past and she wont sell it :p aww no fair!

  4. Hiya mate

I've got a starlet gt turbo and my fellas got a R(pulsar) both are very good cars

Buy a pulsar if you have deep pockets, they love engines and gearboxes altough my fellas got a dacar gearbox which is a rally rb spec

I've got to say though has soon has i pass by test its good bye to the starlet and hello pulsar!

    Do not buy a SUBARU!!!!!!!!!!!!

Get your self on gtiroc or nissan modifiers

How much you looking at spending on one??

Our mates just sold a mint r too

    http://www.gtiroc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=54063

    heres my felas pulsar

nice ride,i'd have to have a black one too-its the law!

lookin2 spend around 3-4k preferably with some gearbox/brake mods already done

tried annother gt the other day but it just didnt seem to be as fun as my old one despite having more mods ,dunno maybe i just miss mine otherwise time 4 a change?? :o

  5. I was looking at swapping my Glanza with my mates Pulsar a few months ago, but decided against it after reading peoples comments on them. And then the fact I need the car every day and it would cost so much for fuel!

But I love the cars, and my friend had one which was bloody quick and he never had any issues with it at all and he had it for 1.5years. But knowing my luck, it would brake in a week!

I didnt have the money to spend on keep fixing one if it did go wrong.

Im looking at getting an Evo 5 now, next year some time.

The insurance on a Pulsar GTiR for me was £600 fully comp, 21 with 3ncb.

    Evo 2 or 3 was £1800!

Evo 5 will be £900 as of January.

I suppose you need to look at whether you would have spare cash to spend on fixing things like the gear box if it did go wrong.

A Starlet is definatly alot cheap to run and tax etc.

quoted the same £600ish with some mods and breakdown cover for pulsar,i have some testdrives lined up in the near future so we'll have to see which i prefer, after all i didnt buy my gt with my head at the time!

anyone know if theres a workshop manual for the pulsar?

  6. --> LINK <--

yeah they do have their pros and cons, but like Pulsars with gearboxs, RX7's with rebuilds and evo 5/6's are riddled with their problems belive me!! :D

but there are more evo specialists and parts are much easier to get hold of then pulsars these days!!!

your bros car looks like a good deal, about the same price as a good starbo if its gonna cost a grand to insure tho...i'll have to check with my insurer

  7. It depends what you want for a car.

Starlet - FWD, Cheap to run, Cheap to Tax, 180hp then you have to spend funny money for more power, Reasonable handling, fantastic reliablilty

GTiR - 4WD, More Expensive to Run, More Expensive to Tax, 300hp is EASY to get, Reasonable handling, average reliability (as Aaron said gearboxes don't like much over 300hp)

The weight doesn't effect it much TBH. They have enough torque to fuck up alot of things off the lines.

I'm looking at getting one next after my 200 :D

could you guess roughly how much more a pulsar is to run? (my insurance for the gt was £466)

    cheers

  8. my ep was recently written off(been driving 10years without a scratch-gutted :D ), i'm waiting for the insurance to payout and still recovering to some extent meanwile, ive been considering a nissan pulsar as an alternative mostly because its 4wd, i just wondered if it'll be worth the extra insurance/tax???

any input would be good even if im blaspheming by considering something other than another starbo!

  9. get a decent boost gauge mate.. and i dont think you have an egt probe mate.. the top one is your lambda/ 02 sensor which determins your air fuel ratio.. if this is damaged your fueling could be all over the place.. smoke/ vapour indicating its running rich...

on another note the bottom sensor is a cat temp sensor so having a decat i very much doubt that this is inserted..

so just to confirm.. you have decat, stainless mani but still standard exhaust?

just back from my hols yay!

yes i have all of the above (i think your right-must be cat temp, its defo bolted into the bottom of the decat tho)

  10. Since ive joined up no1 has ever mentioned of changing one....when do toyota recomend they are changed? mine looks all shiney but i dont know when it was changed. also the car shakes ever so slightly every now and then with the beat of the engine when left idling.....

    Thanks FTM

if you havent changed it- dont, it wont be blocked (the one in the tank will block first) i changed mine and it was like new inside -66k miles and despite using new washers and doing it up really really really really tight it still leaks!

    basically dont bother mate.

  11. in the short term cable tie then epoxy around it ,but even this wont last long -good excuse to get shot of it!

where the pipe comes out of the rocker cover replace with a breather-about £7 from your local motorfactor halfrauds etc.

replace efi pipe with pipe and filter strait off the turbo mounted behind radiator (asuming u dont have A/C) then throw the rest in a skip.....job done. :)

  12. hey had my starlet since may....when i got it it used to shake alot when left idling e.g. at the lights not really full on shaking but noticeable little movements the shaking went with the engine beat...the needle is always moving not at one point like all/most cars. after two bottles of redex improved alot...but it still shakes and the needles still doesn`t sit still always ossilating aroung 750-1000 rpm. my suspision is the fuel filter as i dont think it has ever been changed..has service history to an extent then was serviced by the same garage for the next 5-6yrs...the fuel filter looks new and genuine....lambda has been replaced fuel economy isnt the best on the car either (i have put on the corolla mani if it helps)..starts first time without fail in the morning tho.

i am puzzled dont know where to begin.

my sypathies man, my n/a judders now and then when i pull away and used to have a noisy idle,i ran the tank as low as i dared then changed the fuel filter (do the bastard up tight) then swithed from cheapo 95 octane to v-power 97 octane its alot quieter at tickover since-just try switching the fuel but u need to have it near empty before tho, let us know if it helps :D

  13. interestin ideas folks,

so far as i can tell theres hardly any smoke now and having driven it for a while with the mods it feels like it has less torque certainly-judders a bit when u pull away and it never used to.

it pulls for longer in gear tho probably letting u shift like 1000-1500rpm later without the power dropping off and according to the boost gauge seems to hit max boost faster but getting wheelspin in second gear is nigh on impossible were as it used to be a piece of cake so a fair difference i'd say.

i live in the south and i cant find any performance related garages anywhere local- anyone know of any in winchester, romsey, eastleigh, hampshire in general would be a big help!!
