thats normal mate the car was probs cold thats why, my N/A jumps to 2k after 5days of standing there n then falls to 750-1k when its warmed up at halfway. as for the heater its just compensating for the extra power drain as it were....just wait till cars nice n warm before you drive off or take it nice n easy till it warms up

I got chatting to the silver gt owner as i was going to my lecture today a nice sound guy, knows his stuff. hes thinking of selling it so i asked him to join up someone mabe intrested in it? so far i know its got a 1.3 lsd on it and a turbo gauge and an exhaust not sure which one tho
-
Ive got ages to wait
-
After hearing that mate sod it, sometimes its viable to do a conversion for the fun etc if your in a good area, lots of ncb, older driver but when its going to have a really bad effect on insurance might aswell get the real deal.......im really thinking of it too
-
I`d love a turbo 5dr...insurance will most likely kill me
-
great, start looking autotraders out on thursday n theres piston heads n ebay http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/1998-TOYOTA-STARLET-...%3A1|240%3A1318
-
go 4 it mate plenty of knowledge about.....good luck n keep us posted atm im just going to save like mad n see what happens
-
they ceratainly do.....look on ebay theres always loads on there, autotrader etc another point nicely mentioned....insurance the bastards, my conversion is either save up n fte the thing or gt a glanza n the only real factor that decides it is you guessed it insurance
-
Just look for a 3dr n/a in the ideal colour you want, get a good solid base make sure its clean etc dont worry too much abt engine because you will be replacing it anyway if you carry out the convesrion n then go from there
-
yup win win matey.....going out to buy a glanza = easy option if no one converted or anything of the sort just messed around with cracked manis n bigger turbos this site would not really exsist...just the fun, chinwag part
-
but its the fun and ball ache you will miss out on when converting if u just go out n buy a glanza
-
basicly headlights bonnet bumper fogs rear bumper rear spoiler number plate surround skirts + end things decals on the side and then the engine, box, ecu loom

seriously, how much would you be pumping out with that lump before something went wrong and the headache you would go through? -
doesnt matter, both have the same principle just line them up right....otherwise everything goes breaky breaky apart from that support the engine n gearbox at all times n have some1 with abit of muscle around you/someone to help you lift the box back up n align it
-
inspiration.......was hoofing around on the net as you do i came across this beasty, something i would like to do when the FE dies http://images.google.co.uk/imgres?imgurl=h...ficial%26sa%3DG

The cars around these days are toys compared to what we had before 2000....diagnostic code this, electric this dad drives a 1lt 52 yaris n he hates the living day lights out of it (cant wait to get rid he sold his beloved corolla 2.0XLD for it) the yaris is slow no lack of power what so ever even compared to other 1lts, shitty loose gear changing our neighbours have a jap assembled one n ever other week it throws on the EM light saying the car is running to lean its been serviced, well maintained, injectors cleaned, they vary where they fill up at n still comes up! only good thing about cars
-
only thing is mines got shitloads of swirl marks all over the car.....i would like to get rid of them but when i waxed it i felt the roof n it had like tiny bumps on the surface so claying seems like the ideal solution
-
If you dont have tax i read that the insurance is void too, they impound it give u 2 weeks to produce it so on n so forth im sure we can just go down n see it without you bringing it over? loads of cars+people=going to attract a nob head who calls the rozzers, or they will come over if spotted etc.
-
Meet = ill be there dad will kick up an argument n say its a waste of petrol but im commin full stop! hopefully a mates comming im trying to get him to gt a EP but he wants a corsa,clio,polo... im hoping to shoot down on sat morning get a clay kit from halfrauds wash n clean it pick my mate up,off to yours n then bomb it down to idrees`s place sounds like an ideal day
-
sorry lol im a bit of perfectionist
-
lol i used a little drill bit n filed it out using needle files took abt 10min, put the old gromet in n bobs your uncle....i dint wanna put it in the rubber pipe like a few people have on here as it was already stretched n i dont do cowboy jobs
-
yeah, whole pipe off, put the hole in the box for the sensor, filter in sensor in put the pipe on tighten n then stretch it to the tb n tighten it at that end was easy really only thing which took time was the hole for the sensor because i filed it by hand n it came out perfect for £3 looks so much better n not out of place.
-
nearly there mate, saw a renault the same colour as your car yesterday....n by the way gt rid of that bonding glue line on the rear bumper ruins the look of it
-
