im going to stick with the ct9 and take it as higher boost as i can, my plan is a 04l conversion but thats why im looking at front mounted, i want it for the strip mainly..as well as some trackdays
-
Pretty much as the topic title says, im undecided so whats the pro's and con's of each..
Im swaying towards the front mounted to be honest..
Also, have i seen a hks front mounted on a glanza before?

I have a blitz SUS induction kit, ive got a 6" cold air feed going to it though.
Its in the original location but the cold air feed helps alot. i have it located underneath the radiator so some nice cold air flow.
Ive heard the a'pexi and its a bit too "roar'ish" for me..The blitz filter screams at higher revs and sounds insane.Plus i cant be hassled with cotton types any more , the last one i had, had a hole appear in it somehow?! and well yeah, you can guess what kinda problems that led to.

So who is goin than and who got track time it looks like it is goin to b good this year
japfest? how about the fast show? 25th is run what ya brung & 26th is the fast show day with cars such as hks skyline and sumopowers drag beasts

If it was fine before you fitted your new leads it has to either be a shot plug or firing order chap.Unless you got a dodgy lead in the pack?
-
I wouldn't rule it out, I've been in that situation before with a new set of spark plugs when one was duff.
plus it doesn't cost anything to try
Are you sure you have the leads on the right way as in fire'ing order?
Make sure lead 1 goes to plug 1 etc

well it could be the idle control valve, its a small plug at top of engine near the brake fluid resevoir. pull it out when engine is running and tapping should stop but engine will stall after a few seconds. mine taps regular and have been told its summet to do with the induction kit but i don't know for sure.
I was going to try the idle control valve tomorrow morning when its light outside and i can see what im doing
Thanks for the serious suggestion paul.
And thanks for the welcome shelly, good to be on here finally after having my glanza for over 4 months now
the noise does actually sound like a clicking from some type of sensor or valve more than an internal knock.
Ill yoink the plug out tomorrow morning and if it stops ill have to get a new one.
Ive just finished fitting my samcos so ill get some piccys up in the morning guys
-
So in other words, nobody has a clue?
And yeah i have blocked off the old line.
It was fine untill a couple of days ago.
-
Also is it more of a tapping noise than a knocking noise?
lol i would move the throttle butterfly but i cant get my hand under there, fat hands it sounds as if its comming from the boost control valve area, the boost guage needle is also flickering up and down whilst its on vacum.. im baffled.
And no chap, its not a stray cat.. could be my neighbours pup though any suggestions as to what it is?
If not ill nip it to toyota tomorrow and have to fork out for one of there gimps to look at it !

does it sound like its coming from the engine itself, (if so where abouts) or something close to the engine?
Rich.
It sounds like its comming from behind the speedo / around the throttle body area but its hard to tell with out somebody sitting in the car keeping the revs up for me to listen
-
Hello chaps, second post here so be nice to me..
If i let it idle is sounds fine.As soon as i let the revs rise above idle is has a knocking sound from the top of the engine bay nearest the scuttle pannel
As soon as it passes say 1500ish, the noise goes completely.
It happens when im pulling away in 1st or when im just sitting still.
I honestly havent got a clue on this problem.
It just suddenly started making the noise yesterday morning when i started it.
Help? ill also be getting some pics of my engine bay up once i find some batterys.

standard boost on high setting roughly 9-9.5 psi. fcd round bout an hour to fit.
oh and welcome to the site
An hours about what i wanted to hear
Thanks and hello to you too.
Do i have to splice into the ecu loom?

hello chaps, new to this forum.
Ive had my ep91 for just over 2 months now, in which time ive fitted a turbo back hks super dragger exhaust.Im purchasing a hks induction kit any time now, but im allready hitting a fuel cut.
My question is, ive been looking at the hks fcd from fensport and was just wondering what the fitting of this is like as in time etc.is it a ecu splice jobby?
And also just wondering what ep91's boost @ standard on high mode with out a controller fitted.
