was only thinking of running about 1.o0 bar in high boost anyway
will a uprated ECU eliminate the fuel cut off definiatly then???

lol.. id put my pay cheque on it that a r5 will get slaughterd by a starbo no problem...
also we know what the little 4efte engines are and what they can do..
and we definately dont need you commin in here with your big gay spoon

Raced a R5 on a dual carriage way when i first got my starbo
apart from a filter and a dumpvalve it was standard
side by side with the R5 till i hit the 115mph restrictor
20 seconds later BANG!!! bye bye engine stuck on the side of the road 4 ages while my good old Starlet didn't even break a sweat
o and a little quote to the Honda Driver "Starlet Turbo...Honda killers" well known saying that haha

Ok heres a quick question
Taking the advice of people saying get a uprated ECU instead of FPR's FCD's and setting it up on a RR i also want a better turbo
so if im to purchase a Hybrid Turbo can i do it with my standard EP82 engine or is it likely to blow the bolox off it
so can i keep it standard or is it advisable to get a rebuild

im kind of in the same boat
was thimking of FPR's FCD's and getting it set up on a RR but then realised an ECU was a better option
but I've looked everywhere for 1 theres one or 2 kicking around on forums but is there ne where else you can get them from???

hmmmm if the thermostat was broke wouldn't the engine temp go sky high though

yer that happened to mine had fuk all coming through
just drained it flushed all the pipes out and filled it up again and it did the trick
worth a shot

So I've gt a pretty standard EP82
I havn't had it long all I've done is A blitz SUS induction and Blitz Dump Valve
after doing exhaust FMIC etc i intend to increase the boost
so what your saying is but a Fuel Pressure Regulator kit, get it set up on a dyno with a HKS FCD then with a Adjustable actuator up the boost to 0.8bar on the standard C9 turbo??
have i got that right

I've been wondering the same thing
if your going to increase the boost above the 0.8bar cut off my mate says you just uprate all the fuel system which will solve the cut off problem
Is this true???

yeh I've just been looking at starletgtturbo.com looks pretty good
so what your saying is instead of naffing about with the little things would be better to save up and sent it for a complete re-build at starletgtturbo.com then??

yer thats what i thought.well heared it tapping so switched it off let it cool down for an hour checked oil then drove it home bout half a mile slowly and its been stood ever since so as u said might be able to just do shells and maybe rods. do you fink crankshaft might need doing as well???

yep i got mine from a dealer in bradford and within the 1st 2 months the clutch shattered the air con rack fell off driveshafts went and a bottom arm popped out and now the bottom end bearings are naffed so i wouldnt reccomend it haha

my starlet gt turbo's knocking on bottom end a bit
it sounds like metal to metal so im presuming its bottom end bearings shells/rods etc but just thought id check to see if anyone more expierienced with starlets might know any different.i havn't starved it of oil at all and it sounds ok to drive and not too bad while ticking over.its when you rev it in neutral it starts tapping like hell at the bottom of the engine. Anyone got any thoughts of what it could be or does it sound like a bottom end rebuild might be a good bet
