Thanks for the reply guys, i can get at the wires up to a point then i lose the expertise to continue lol. i can dismantle the dash and so on but i dont feel too confident with the wiring. If i run power straight from the battery is there anyway to fuse it ? and to be able to switch it on and off? thanks again guys

Right, got quite a predicament at the moment, took a look other day at the wire for the rad/cig fuse it doesnt look too healthy i put a fuse and it they keep blowing i'm thinking maybe theres too much current through it (duh) but i don't know where its coming from? im thinking of taking it to a garage to get checked out, but last time i got my heater checked out they wanted £450 to fix it :@ would this be a big job? or is there another way to get a 12v wire to the radio some other way? thanks for the help guys.

cheers for the reply guys it was the stupidist thing ever, in the left side light there was a single filament bulb where there is ment to be a dual filament (for braking etc bla) so it was sticking the middle one on lol. its all good now, thanks for all the help guys, gives me more knowledge for the future

right i know this is a retarded question but is yer rear center light supposed to be on constantly? pics just lights on as normal; when brake lights are pressed; my dad was saying it shuld be alright because its 'dual filament' or what ever he was on about, just bit cautious as i cant be arsed gettin fined or pulled over, got enough to pay for as it is. thanks for any input guys, much appreciated

i bought another cigarette lighter socket from a member off here to test the connection from the plug (don't know wut the connectors called lol) anyway, my old unit was broke, now ive just stuck that one in and all works. Cheers for the reply lads!

cheers for the replys guys. im gunna have to check it out tomorrow, i checked the fuses under the steering wheel, i thought it was on the same fuse as the radio? according to the handbook lol, i`ll have to have a look at the engine bay one, didnt know there were fuses in there. if all else fails im just gunna do wut tin said

hey, i dunno if its the right section to post it, had a look on the forums for similar problems and just noticed that the answers they had were check the wiring, i`ll admit it im not exactly the best at mechanics or electrical things (probs the worst) i can get a grasp of things, but i really need this crappy 12v socket to work as i have no heating and cant afford to replace the heater matrix atm :@ Ive checked the connection between the sockets and no wires are loose and they look in good order, the green light doesnt come on and it doesnt work at all, was just wondering if there was anythi
