It was a nice GT and really made me think of my old GT.
God I miss that car and really regret selling it.

Hi guys, I spotted a black mk2 GT at MG Autos in Derby on Sunday at the Evo meet. It did have UKSC stickers on it. I take it that it was somebody from here.

Hi Rick, you're right about the bore, I just need to get a pile of test EP91/82 parts to test on.
No specific plans for the Evo, what size wheels are you running? I'm happy to have a look if you've got a standard hub/disc/caliper etc I can borrow to work on?
I have no spare parts unfortunately but I'm running 18" wheels. The main problem with the Evo brakes is the discs. One piece discs just warp and become pretty unuseable. The standard Brembo calipers in conjunction with a good set of 2 piece discs and good pads like Carbotech XP8's are good even for occasional track days. The problem is finding 2 piece discs at a reasonable price. The cheapest quality ones I've found so far are Godspeed discs at £350. It's now possible to get a full K-sport 8 pot kit with 2 piece discs and lines and pads for £750 so you have to consider if it's worth doing the full 8 pot conversion, even though there isn't really a need for such stopping for power for most people.

Yup yup - no problem, if they are common on the starlet in the UK I'm bound to run into some I expect....
As far as I can recall, the 54mm bore on the ep82 is on the mk1 which was made between 1990-1992. After that they moved to 55mm. This is something you may want to confirm this to be sure.
Any plans for doing anything for Evos? I'm getting ready for new brakes on the front of my 5 and they all cost a fortune.

Yep mate they put mine through a none cat test as all they could compare it to was either ep91 uk spec or an ep80 or 81 cant remember. So registered for none cat test and passed peice of cake
Trust me, if the Evo can pass this test then anything can lol!!!

All mot testers have to have a current copy of the rule book. Tell them to get the rule book out. My mot tester did and it clearly states in there that if the exact model of the vehicle is not listed on the system the a non cat test has to be performed for emissions.

Hi guys, I had the Evo mot'd a couple of weeks ago. Bear in mind I'm running a full 3" turbo back exhaust with no cat on a 1998 model and it flew through the emissions test. The reason for this is that as there is no direct uk counterpart, the emissions test has to be a non cat test.
Although this would only benefit the guys who own imports, it could well get you out of a hole when it comes to mot time. Plus it means that anybody with a Starlet turbo can go full decat without having to worry.

For sale: Evo 5 front seats
Item Condition: Used but on the whole good. There is a little bit of wear on a couple of the bottom bolsters but they are nowhere near going through. I'm sure the bits of pilling can be shaved off and they would look even better.
Price and price conditions: £200 plus delivery.
Extra Info: These are the seats only and will need to be retro fitted to your existing rails. I bought these as spares for my Evo 5 but I sold the car yesterday so i don't need them anymore. Please be aware that these do not come with rails.

Here are both together:
This is the wear on the one on the left:
