For the past years Toyota's smallest car in production, was demonstrating to all other motors' companies how a car should be! Simple, attractive, fast, reliable and all these in a compact hatchback design with a reasonable fuel consumption.
The Starlet has written in its CV many official Toyota participations to the world rally, along its "'bigger brother" Celica, with really competitive results.
I own a Toyota Starlet (EP91) Glanza V Turbo, made in June's 1999 (unfortunately last production). Since then it was replaced by Toyota with the same category Yaris (Vitz).
Unfortunately the GT Turbo versions of Starlet were never so popular in Europe, so the only way to get one was to buy an imported one from Japan.
The Glanza V hides under its hood a 1331cc DOHC, 4cyl, 4E-FTE engine, accompanied with CT9b turbo. This setup makes the 920Kg beauty output 133bhp, and accelerate from 0 to 100Km/h at the impressive time of 6.8 seconds. This pocket rocket is mechanically flawless like every Toyota.
Some features coming along with the Starlet â?? Glanzas V are electric windows, electric mirrors, ABS, climate control (optional), semi-bucket seats, 14" alloy wheels, dual mode turbo (0.65bar high/0.45bar low), the beautiful body kit which makes it scream that it is GT version, and much more.
I own my Glanza since the beginning of 2002, and so far I had not even the slightest problem. It has been my dream-car since 1999 and it still is.
Maybe its interiors are not that rich as many more modern cars of a higher class, but I'm sure that its gorgeous GT style, and performance will impress everybody.

Saw that scrap earlier, they think that they are the big i am! I don't have a lot of time for them on there, always gotta prove a point! Can't help on figures but i'll have a look and see what i can find! Worth it to shut them up! ;)
-
Yeah thats fine for me.
-
Spot on,i'll grab it when we meet up to get the paint off you.
-
Yeah mazda ones fit (think it's mx5 ones)but you will need to get some spigot rings made up for them, rare rims can get them made up for you.Should be some on ebay. Lowering springs on standard dampers will soon knacker the dampers.
-
That'll be great mate, how much you want for it?
-
You throw it in the bin!
Get the system emptied (leagally of course)
Unbolt and remove all piping and aircon components
Replace original belt with a non-aircon starlet one
Refit pressure sensor to loom at PSF connector
The belt number i think is 913e.

Taking it out is fairly easy i believe, just stay well away from the gas that comes out because that stuff'll kill you very quickly if you inhale it!! Not kidding! It's illegal to vent the gas to the air but thats only if you get caught.
-
Drivers side mate,if i cant get the paint or it might be tint film off then i'll give you a shout if you got one .
-
Think they were £45 each inc delivery, the other one on the car is in good nick it' had been sprayed with paint to smoke the light before i got the car.Think i'll try and get the paint off it instead now.£120 aint a bad price from toyota!
-
spoke to him today, the other one is broken! Lying twat said he had a pair in good nick when i ordered them,to be fair though has offered a refund for it.
-

Ignore that stray bit of masking tape,it's there for decoration,it's nearly crimbo after all!

Got some more bits to go in to the holes now! Not all that i ordered but most of it,dozy lemon of a breaker yard couldn't count! Check out the massive roll of bubble wrap they used!
Hole to be filled

Don't you hate it when you order stuff they take the cash and only some of it arrives! Ordered a pair of headlights and indicators from a breaker and the dozy lemon only sent one headlight, but managed to send both indicators! They used the most bubble wrap i've ever seen used to pack parts, most be a whole 10ft roll of it!!

I want your number plate! Nice pics .

;) Jesus! Where'd you go for that quote! Is he a one arm'd chimp in a wheelchair? The suspension swap will take no more than an hour a side, tyres maybe half an hour at most! Tell him to sod off! I doubt even a ferrari dealer would charge that much!
-
Hmm,that could explain the idle issue i have! I'll get a thermostat and see.cheers

I've had cars you can only wank over in your dreams lad! Celica GT4 ST 205,Skyline R33 GTS.Both of Which were comfortably rapid, unlike you i don't have something to prove to anybody! I would respect the car if you had built it,but you didn't,you bought a car that was,in your own words fucked! OOPSY! That £2500 for the rebuild could've been spent on the Glanza you blew £5000 on! ;)
