  1. I might add, the front bar is in perfect condition bar a couple of paint chips and I could get it for $30AUD, so roughly £13.
  2. Yeah I've decided against the bonnet/lights now. Considering just the front bar. Do you think that would be possible, just the front bar?
  3. Cheers mate, I'll see if moving it away helps when I get back home.
  4. You'd be surprised how hard a GT is to find in Australia ;) Especially in my state
  5. Because I think the front end of a 97 EP91 looks terrible. I'd much rather a glanza looking front end but an 82 looks nice too.
  6. I followed the how-to guide to wire up a tacho and had it working perfectly, but it made a very loud noise when I turned on my stereo. I did have it running off my stereo's power but I changed that and it still effected it. I'm not sure if it's because of where i'm pulling the revs signal from (followed the guide) or what. Any ideas of other places I could connect the power/earth/revs wires to behind the dash in an EP91 1997? Cheers!
  7. I have just found a GT hood, EP82 lights and an EP82 front bumper and was wondering how much work would be needed to fit that to my NA EP91 97. I'm hoping it wont take TOO much work? Cheers
  8. Cheers for the feedback guys. I had a play around today and I managed to get the brackets to fit in an odd way and still hold the other black space below it without being screwed together (somehow) and had that fit quite well. Had to adjust the tilt a tiny bit but i'm making progress. Did have to shave parts off the cover that goes around the a/c controls and hazard buttons etc, but nothing major.
  9. My single din flip up headunit, when fitted correctly, folds out and hits the a/c controls above it. I managed to change the angle to which it folds out but in order to see the screen and actually touch it I need it to be straight. Any idea how I can have the HU sit out another inch-2" so that it can fold up perfectly?
  10. So I picked up this soundstream touch screen headunit and have wired it up properly bar one thing, the RCA leads. I have a monoblock which has rca leads running to my 4channel amp, which then has both channels running up to the front of the car which then went into a cable which looks like this >-- so that I could turn two channels and run them both off my old headunit which only had 1RCA preout. This new amp has different coloured cables, two of which are for Line R, Line L. Then there is Line LR, LL, RR and RL. As well as Sub L and Sub R. 8 possible plugs, when I only have 4 coming from
  11. Ah I thought as much. I've pondered on that a while back but it's money that I don't have at the moment haha I was hoping for quick ways to increase bhp etc.
  12. What's that? Yes I know I should know, but i'm still getting a grip on all this stuff haha
  13. So I've had my EP91 for just over a year now and i've been slowly adding to it, but I want it to go faster. I've done the basics, changed the air filter to a K&N filter, got a 2.25" cat-back exhaust and the rest is just cosmetic. What can I do to get some more power out of my girl? Keep in mind, I don't have much money to spend at all (currently between jobs) and I live in Australia. Cheers
  14. My ep91 overheated on the way to work today. The only cause I can think of is the big fan infront of my radiator doesn't spin. It's been this way for a month or two and no temp problems at all. it was fine when going a decent speed as it had cold air blowing on the engine but when idling or going really slow my temp kept slowly going up. Maybe a fuse has gone for the fan? Nothing is blocking it from spinning. Yes my car had coolant in. It's a freezing cold day too with heaps of rain..weird. Please help!
  15. It goes through the trailing arm, through the back of the caliper and now the spring has to be pulled back so it can slot in a little groove. The only thing is, the spring is damn tight and I can only slide it an inch or so and that doesn't seem to be enough to get it back in place. Any ideas?
  16. I've tried to upload pics but unfortunately i've gone over my download limit so it's not letting me On the back of the caliper I've unscrewed 3 screws and managed to get a part of the handbreak cable off (I believe that's what it is) as it has been cut off just as it leaves the axle, there is also a cable that goes from the caliper through the trailing arm and is then cut off around 10 inches out of the trailing arm. How do I disconnect that from the caliper? It looks as though I could get it off if I had access to the inside of the brakes, but I have no idea how to get in there haha. I wi
  17. Thanks mate, managed to get one of the trailing arm bolts off earlier, wasn't too hard. Just got the other side (haven't tried) and the right hand side bolt just next to the caliper. That one is a bitch, I've soaked it in CRC many times and it's still not budging, i even snapped a spanner on it yesterday. Any idea on how to get that loose? I'm in Australia so some of the stuff that's in the UK may not be available here Also, when I undo that clip, will I have to catch some brake fluid? or... I'm still kind of lost on the brake part
  18. Just picked up my new rear axle and currently trying to take off the old one. a couple of questions... The braces which go along the side of the car towards the front, how the hell do you undo these bolts? I'm so confused... Also, the handbrake on my new axle has been cut, how do I go about getting my old one onto the new one? Please help! I want my starlet back on the road!! haha
  19. Long story short, a big storm carried sand onto the road next to a roundabout. The next day when it was all dry, my starlet decided to swing it's back end out into the curb. Now it appears as though it's the back axle that's bent out of shape by quite a bit, I took the rear left wheel off and what it attachs to (unsure of the technical name lol) is pointing at a 45 degree angle towards the ground. My rear right wheel is sticking out from the guards around 3 inches more than it should be. I've found a toyota used parts dealership in my area which I will be heading to soon, just wanted to see
  20. I have a 2 1/4" back-cat system on my 97 EP91 Starlet and it has an exhaust that is like a tube that has been cut in half on an angle, doesn't really matter but yeah. I want to get a new one, but I want to know what would sound best. At the moment it sounds pretty good, but it gets raspy when I first turn it on and when I hit high revs in second and third. I was wondering, what sounds the best? I would prefer a more beefy sound, obviously not over the top and nothing HUGE, I want to keep it around the same size as not to lose too much power. I do like the look of the dual tips...so what effe
  21. Hey all, I have 16" Black KG-5 rims on my 97 EP91 Starlet and I was wondering if I could get it lowered. I was going to make a Glanza Replica but that means I would have to import the kit from the UK and I live in Australia. Anyway, I've decided to just get my Starlet lowered but think I may have a few problems. My wheels are 8mm bigger than stock, which are technically illegal here, but only by a tiny bit. When I full lock to turn, my tyres rub against the inner guards/engine bay? and it doesn't sound too good. This doesn't happen too often though. So, do you think I could still get it low
  22. Do you happen to have any pictures of these parts? Not the exact ones, just so I know what my options are. I'll have a look around in Australia first some more to see if I can find some parts here, to save myself some money on shipping Where did you find out those details about the parts from toyota? It would be great if they have a supplier with those parts here. I'm rather curious about all those parts you mentioned haha I would love to know what they look like. Especially the spoiler. Thanks a lot for your help, it's greatly appreciated. This is the first progress I've made at all with t
  23. Non-turbo. It's just your general Starlet. It's not the Life one, but the other one lol That's what I was hoping to do, get the bonnet, headlights and bumper for a full front-end conversion. The parts are just impossible to find in Australia.
  24. I'm not sure if it's UK-spec. I doubt it, I live in Australia if that helps. I'm still a bit ignorant on this topic So what do you mean by the front end bits? What wont fit and what would be required to make it fit?
