  1. Well it as given me the BHP of most of my classic cars which is sad all below 60 bhp

  3. all i know is mine a Dry, Mesh type filter of a Ford Focus 1.6 Zetec SE (i have a Focus) the kit clamed to give me a extra 10BHP with no cold air and 20BHP with cold air that would give me 110BHP to 120BHP in the Foucs at 6000rpm I wonder what i as done for the Starlet All i know is the kit came with a polish induction pipe which when changing gear or when put the foot down it whistle and i do know i have no turbo and it ain't a faint whistle it lound enough one
  4. I have mine on all year round and never clean them so put them on and keep them clean

    I know i fixed a civic once and some one had used filler to fix a hole in the sump didn't work thats why i was fixing engine went by by when all the oil add came out

    I got stop for going to slow once i was doing 10mph in a 60mph zone didn't get a fine just told to go faster

  9. When a low trolley jack won't fit under the car when you get a flat happened to me once to often Or when you rip the engine clean of its mount when driving over rough roads happened to me the other day car still there and it not the starlet

    I spend most of my time fixing cars and made me think one day whats the worse car i have every had to fix so whet the worse you have every seen my favorit one is a Toyota Starlet early 80s or 70s the owner had it from new and never fixed anything on it never changed the oil check the oil or any thing i think the breaks where done it once there was 350,000 on the clock and it was going for a NCT (MOT) all i did was replace some light blubs sent it in and it passed. The second one is my Starlet all for shocks have been going over the last year and now my car sit to one side and leans to the fro
  12. i say it will but if i do some maths i have had the car just over a 1 year and a half got it with 166,000 on the clock so i say in anorther 2 to 3 years
  13. Got it fixed fault spark plugs and they where new oh well lets see if i can get 300,000 out of it before i need a rebuild
  14. done one and it spot on and the head was done at the end of last year

The problem is the car as start making odd sound when it hit 200,000 miles the engine as lost power alot of power takes 15 mins to get to 60mph and that foot to the floor it as also start to drinks petrol There is no blue smoke from the car idle is spot on the trouble start when you put the foot down At 2000 rpm to 3500 rpm it run on 3 pistons at 3500rpm up it runs on all 4 i have replace spark plugs, ht leads, roter arm, distripter cap and still no good any help will be great as the car is doing my nut and i am so close to scraping it at this point

    the hard bit in that is theres not many starlet scraped around me it mostly new car 2000 up or skoda
  17. its not rocket sicnece when it come to welding i have a old mig welder and i use it to weld classice cars when they rot

    well as the topic say one big short i went in to a flood in the road which i didn't see till the last second and short all the car electrics luckly my ecu and other bit survied just some wireing got hot and melted a bit mostly behind the dash now i have worked out most of it but i'm now stuck at the part behind the steering wheel any one have a digram for there or can till which wire go where i have no colours on most of my wiring as it been cooked by the short the car is a 1995 5 door starlet not a jap import Thanks you tom

  20. i did do a bit but not much i just went head frist and did it but i do recommond checking the net for tip cause when i did it i had no internet
  21. i only knew how to change a wheel had a hand full of tools that my dad left when my perants split and took the engine out of on 1985 ford escort then rebulit it put it back in and it stared frist time which was a shock But now i know alot more about cars i work with them day in day out
  22. ya the electrics are a bit of a pain but if u take your time and lable everything it all right any way it not so bad on car above 1990 as must are colour code as for older car there not and thats a pain in the back side when i did my frist engine transplants i put a weekend in to it

  25. now how hard would it be to do that to a volvo my dad had a sleeper then he crashed it a ford anglia swith mall block ford v8 supercharger running mad power to the rear end and still on stock shocks may be that what caused him to crash
