i had the same as you mate went to toyota and bought a new fob for £35 and did that programming thing and worked fine but i still had to be next to the car to unlock then got an alarm fitted last week and can unloock it form 100metres away now

mine did 147,000km and the engine then went on me my engine rebuild was £1400 including port and polished cylinfer head
