  1. Yeah that's right, but I'm pretty sure it's not gonna satisfy my but I'm sure some form of boost will sort that out!

Anyway I don't wanna take over your thread!!

haha yeah i was thinking it must feel kind of crap if you went from turbo to non turbo, like you said bit of boost would cure that haha

  2. i love vtec hondas....origianlly i wanted to get a 1.5 vtec civic.... my uncle has 1, and hes done a few mods... but the best mod by far is putting vtec badges on the back of the rear headrests  its like 'h8ter vision'

    Anup

haha sounds like a random but funny mod dont think i could justify sticking vtec badges to my type r seats though haha. they are good i just love vtec! loud as fcuk if its a straight through pipe, setting car alarms off was a daily thing for me haha

  3. Since my old one I've had a 211hp GT Turbo, a White 219hp Glanza and now am moving on again. Looking at the JDM Civic EP3 TypeRs.

sounds like a fine collection of cars! but you cant beat abit of vtec! if your going to get a EP type R then deffo go for the JDM like you said, get 220bhp and an LSD if im correct

    im most probs wrong ha

  4. There must be something wrong with the Civic! I had a run against two of them.

haha yeah most probably but its top speed is only 115mph so that wont help either. i did a track time at trax and smoked a vtr, fiesta rs turb (until it came to a straight haha) 106 quick silver, so its okay. what car have you got now then? if thats your old one

  5. Well thats my old car, very old!

I had a Corolla inlet, full exhaust and an open filter on it. It was pretty nippy, I beat 2 Saxo VTR's in it and they are 1.6 with 90hp or so  that was on the 1/4 mile strip by the way (17.3 seconds).

dam!! that is quite quick then i try beating vtr's in my civic but it just wont happen haha and thats with 130bhp! im looking forward to a starlet now haha

  6. The 1.3 N/A is pretty nippy for what is is.

well im looking forward to something different anyway getting kind of bord with the civic haha. do you get decent power gains with an inlet manifold like you have? an amateur is a corolla one you have?

  7. its... slow  all fairness its okay for a 1.3 really, power can be gained with a few mods like a glanza S mani and air filter but the power dont bother me just yet as its going to be my 1st car. the only thing i do miss is it not sounding like a turbo to be honest.

arrhhh dam it i was hoping they would be secretly rapid haha. yeah i would love a turbo, i was hoping i could get a starlet thats down as standard engine but got a turbo but there quite abit more that an SR. for your first car thats dam nice!

  8. ahahaa! LOL

    go away!

haha loving the jelousy between you two haha. just had a look at you build up ryan and it looks pretty dam nice i must say! how you coping with a non turbo? are they quite fast as i have a 1.5 vtec so im expecting quite a drop in power if i do get an SR.

be prepared to be pestered when im halfway through my build chaps haha

  9. welcome to the club, i have an SR and doing a glanza conversion, all thats needed is above, just depends what front bumper you want as i wanted a 98 spec with lip that costs abit more but well worth it in my opinion!

hi ryan cheers for the advice, would you say its an easy conversion? i am a mechanic but theres no welding or cutting to do is there?

  10. Welcome to the forum.

The cheapest I've seen SR's for sale are around £1k for a tidy one. Damien on here is selling one at a bargain price of £750 though, and his is mint.

For the Glanza parts, here are rough prices:

Glanza bonnet £100 second hand - Lucky if you can get one the same colour as the car.

Headlights - Gary_EP91 is selling a pair at £40 which is very cheap. Usually go for around £70-£80 (Cost £120 brand new)

Bumper - You can get the 96 spec bumper for around £70-£100 second hand, if your lucky it'll have foglights attached.

That's all you need. If you want a 98 spec bumper they cost £109 from Toyota but then you need the 98 spec fogs which are £130 or something stupid like that!

You'll also need the Glanza grille to attach the bumper to the slam panel, these cost around £22 from Toyota. If you want part numbers, check out the part number section.

haha fancy that im just chatting to damien about looking at his car soon!

sorry for my stupidity but is there any toyota specialist that sells these parts used? or is scavenging through ebay the best way?

cheers for all the advice, im taking note

  11. Welcome to the club pal, Bonnet/bumper/grill + headlights i believe =] someone who's actually done it will clarify it though =]

    What civic's have you owned?

thankyou very much, im actually starting to get this forum merlarky haha. oh cheers i will be pestering a few people for glanza parts soon then by the sounds of it haha.

i own a civic EJ9 wich is the same shape as the EK but just a 1.4 until i put a 1.5 vtec in, nothin special compared to b series vtecs but im only 19 so i can afford one to be honest

  12. hey guys and ladies, im new on here currently after a tidy starlet SR of a starlet with a glanza front.

if i was to purchase a SR how easy would it be to convert it to a glanza front? would 800 smackaroos been sufficient?

im after all the advice possible as im a civic whore, so im new to starlets but im getting addicted to them the more i look at them haha.

    cheers
