  1. yeah does abit Does suck as im preety skint now! Just to weigh up all my options what would be the most cost effective way of sorting it, should I get the engine stripped down and check what the issue is and if its repairable or just buy a different engine?
  2. Cheers guys, im gunna go through tomorrow and have a look at it for myself. Hopefully this wont be to messy to sort out :/
  3. cheers, I bought the car 2 years ago, after the first year I changed the oil myself, its only covered about 3000miles since Ive owned it. Its got the ct9b turbo and uprated manifold, exhaust system and de-cat, other than that its standard. sigh anyone know of any engines going?
  4. Yeah it sounded odd to me, it drove perfect before. Surely if it was a case of old oil ect it wouldnt have ran well before I took it would it?
  5. Took my ep82 in today for a major service / cambelt and fmic fitted. Just got a call saying that now he's changed the oil ect the engines knocking and basically fooked he says I wouldnt have noticed before because it can get use to driving on old oil. Just seems strange because before I took it in it idled perfect and there was no knocks or smoke. Could this happen? The engines only done 102 KMH. Any advice please?
  6. Haha yeah true! Least its a push to sort it out anyways otherwise i probs wouldnt have. Not to keen on how this scirroco feels to drive and start stop is wierd at first but it looks beaut anyways
  7. Cheers for the replies guys. I've got a horn sorted now so thats no probs and there is wiring there. In that case I'll give the bearing ago my self and hopefuly it shall be sorted in the next few days In the meantime my bro's just came round and lent me his new scirroco until its sorted so im not complaining
  8. Haha im glad you put that, just been out and looked...not even a horn there lol. Preety much solves that one On to the rear foglight...I cant even see one of those either lol do some GT's not have them?
  9. Okay thanks I'll give that a go. Yeah the boots split so will deff need a new one and yep I dont have the right tools to do the baring so will just have to pay for the labour unfortunately. Thanks for the help tho!
  10. My gt just failed its MOT Kind of gutting as Im skint after just paying off insurance. Failed on rear wheel baring, cv boot, the rear fog not being the right colour?? and then the horn wasnt working which i'd completely forgot about. Just wondering how I go about fixing the horn? Is there things I should check before replacing the actual horn? As I have no idea how to do this any help would really be appreciated. I'll have to get the garage to do the baring but want to try and fix this part myself to keep costs down. Thanks for any help!
  11. The boot I bought was a Mk3 one so I wasnt planning on changing it until it got damaged
  12. Cheers guys the tint has grown on me actually so abit of a bonus I guess! Just gotta sort out the back bumper now because theres a big dint where some kind person backed into it the very first time I parked it up
  13. Well it was in excellent condition when sent out but it got really battered and dinted whilst being delivered to me so my mate said he would sort it. Plus he's smoothing mad so just went for it
  14. Thanks! totally agree with you
  15. Yeah it came with the tint which I wasnt aware at the time of buying. Gunna remove it if im not to hungover tomorrow Prefer it fully smoothed, looks better imo
  16. Hey, so basically I purchased a boot recently and seeing as it wasnt in the best of condition I got my mate to smoothe it and respray it. Fitted it today and I really like how it looks! Nothing new ino as peeps already have the same but thought id share non the less This is how it looked before... And this is how it looks now... I no it wont be to everyones taste but I really like it. Next the rear bumper is getting resprayed and a few dents taken out then im on the hunt for some decent alloys and coilovers. Anyways what do you guys think?
  17. Yeah was alot of customising from what i heard but the guy at Slide specialises in those engines so he did in in about 3 weeks. It 's all really neat and you cant even tell its not ment to be Minus the intercooler its a preety cool sleeper!
  18. Yeah its looks really stealthy and is abit different. He loves my ep82 which is why he decided to go for a jap approach with the engine
  19. Hey guys, thought I would post my brother's project as it may be of interest to some people. This is a build thread he posted on E30.net of his 1989 BMW 316i E30 SR20DET conversion. Last October I was lucky enough to be given my bosses 1989 BMW 316i E30, as at the time it needed quite a bit of work to pass its mot. Here's how it stood when I was given it... Work started straight away on getting it back road worthy, the shell and bodywork were generally in pretty good condition, but a bodged repair job of the rear arches needed quite a bit of welding work. While it was in my friends bodysh
  20. yeah thats why i was wondering if it was just me being abit crap at fitting it or if anyone else had an issue. I dont have issues with the quality ect i was simply after some guidance with the fitting of it.
  21. Ahh thats gutting it was from the CJ performance group buy tbf so thought it would have fitted correctly :s could be me being crap tho tbf
  22. Is that easy enough to do? bought it off here as a group buy so i wonder if others had problems aswell..
  23. im confused now because that pic is of 1 of my kits set up but that wouldnt be over the mani would it?
  24. Even for this kit tho? as this is the one im trying to fit? Thanks
