The units on the 96 spec are grey behind the lens and the 98 spec are chrome with a black edging 98 spec 96 spec

That's great buddy, I do actually have some clear lenses to go on, its mainly the indicator unit im after as the 98 spec ones are different. could you post up a pic for me?
