  2. Mines been doin this pretty much ever since i took out the aircon to fit my fmic a few weeks ago, got a new alternator belt and gonna fit it this weekend hoping it will cure the problem, i've read on other threads about how if its not dealt with it can go snap and cause some big damage so playing it safe :p

  3. I see yeah, thats a great idea thanks for the pics micky, i'll give it a go at the weekend, its not an urgent thing but its just one of those things that i know isnt right and im sure because its not tight its casuing a leak, also ordered a new gasket for it as the one on it is old and had it. cheers for the replies people

  4. Anyone got any ideas on this please as im sure its leaking becase of this, a few months ago when fitting a new fmic, one of the 2 bolts that holds the inlet pipe to the turbo is knackered, when taking it off most of the actual thread came off inside the the nut, now my intercooler is only connected to the turbo with 1 bolt and even though that is tight as it can go the other side isnt and i think i might be losing pressure from this???

Is there a way to get the bolt out of the turbo side and can you get replacements?

  5. Ok, so last night i took the car to the garage... and they wanted to do a caliper rebuild on them?! so i took it home, made a cup of tea and jacked it up and got the wheel off, took off the calipers and pads and wirebrushed them all, tapped the lines, used a small amount of wd40 on the piston as it looked like it had seized up a little bit out and thats why it was sticking, the disc also seems a little bit warped, but anyway i stuck it all back together and hey presto it works fine now!!!

Thanks for all the above comments and advice and i'm glad im not the only one with this problem.

  6. Hey guys, any advice or info on this problem, only started happening with the really cold weather thats now here, basically the rear passenger wheel seems to be stuck, i take off the handbrake and it still seems to be stuck, have tried pumping the brake, doing a handbrake stop, jolting it etc, also have adjusted the cable and it seems to have helped a little bit but it still isnt right, and really stinks where the friction is causing heat. Im taking it to a garage later to have it looked at but i'd like to know what it could be incase they try and con me into something its not.

Any help or advice is much appreciated :(

  7. Ok so had this fitted yesterday by my local garage as was to cold to do it myself, the exhaust fits no problems, no knocks, drove it back thinking it sounds great, then i realised it still had the baffle in it!! took it out and it sounds brilliant, pretty quiet on idle but soon as you touch the accelerator it sounds really good. would def recommend this exhaust to anyone thinking of getting one! :(

  8. No waaay was that you, epic bargain, ive been bidding on 3 of these all going up to around the £150-£170 mark, i was watchin that one and i thought its going to shoot up so i went out, came back and saw it went for £112  Nice one dude

Yeah i been doing the same watching them, the lowest i saw one go for was £95 i think?? i put a max bid on of £130 just as a wildshot, checked it again about half an hour before the end of the bid and it was still on £112 i was like wtf??!? nice surprise because i was gonna be shelling out the full £300+ for one, now i can spend the money on another thing for the car :(

  9. It pulls great from go, climbs up in every gear to 3500 then it just doesnt seem to want to go past it, like its runs out of power, i doubt its a misfire as have changed the plugs about 2months ago and the leads seem fine. i thought it might have been an air leak but i checked and all the pipes are tight.

I'll probably turn the boost down as i know anythin over 12.5 is to high on standard turbo and wastegate, will prob turn it back down to 0.8psi and hoing that will do the job.

Also just to note, i set the actuator to 125mm when it was off the car, when it was on obv it stretched a bit. i should have done this off the car right?

  11. Hi guys,

This weekend i fitted a FMIC and a HKS actuator, all seemed well untill i really gave it the beans this morning, the gauge was going round to 11psi as set by me, but this morning when i booted it it went right round to about 15psi in 3rd gear, then it just stopped revving more than 3500rpm and wont pull past this, is this fuel cut? its not been boosting properly for a while so fitted the actuator to see if that would help, boost usually comes in at 2000rpm and is on full boost by 2500rpm, it doesnt seem to pull properly, turbo spools up fine, boost comes on but its very short and sweet.

The list of mods i have is:

    Relocated air filter to front

    New manifold

    FMIC

    HKS actuator

    Oil catch tank

    A/C removed

Any help or advice is much appreciated.

    Cheers

  12. as usual cheers guys for the quick and helpfull replies,
