  1. Still at this...is the ECU tied to the immobiliser? As in do I need the transponder from the original key that matched the car the ECU came from?
  2. As in there may be a legacy error from the previous car it was installed in? How do you clear fault codes if thats the case?
  3. We're running a stock 4EFE with standard ECU, I bought another 4EFE ECU to carry out the rev limiting mod described here When I tried to test the ECU I bought before making the mod (by plugging it into the car), I get an intermittent flash of the engine warning light on the dash and the car refuses to start. Have tried disconnecting the battery before hooking up the new ECU but that doesnt affect anything. The new unit is visually identical to the original, but some of the long model numbers are subtley different - the new ECU is definitely marked as a 4EFE though. Am I missing some proced
  4. Excuse the ignorance, whats the afr? Am not looking for an increased power output from the ecu mod-just need the higher redline as on some of the short autotesty stuff well have a section where you'd be bouncing on the redline for a few seconds but an up change isn't worthwhile-a couple of hundred more rpm is all we need. Seems to be a common mod on the other starlets in our class.
  5. There are only 2 starlets in N Ireland doing these events but in RoI every other car is a starlet-in a 70 car entry probably 45 would be starlets, mostly boxys and ep82s though. So am sure I've seen your shell!
  6. Hi - was just wondering had anyone else any experience with installing a hydraulic hanbrake on a starlet? Seem to have a couple of options given that a hydraulic handbrake on its on wont pass the MOT..., so either Install hydraulic in addition to standard (centre tunnel getting a bit crammed) Install a hydraulic converter for the standard handbrake http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/HYDRAULIC-CLUBMAN-HANDBRAKE-HEAVY-DUTY-cmb0150-/270953967258?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item3f161d6e9a#ht_908wt_956 - not sure how much I like this and also not sure how compatible or universal they are?
  7. Quick update - Rear ARB sorted, quick shifter sorted Should have also added - am really trying to get either a Soleil ECU or a standard ECU that I can modify for a higher red line....any offers out there??
  8. Greetings... Looking for a few upgrades for the road rally car, relatively standard EP91 N/A....if you have a part please make sure your willing to post to N. Ireland. Whiteline rear ARB or similar (adjustable or non-adjustable) - SORTED Rear strut (OEM or other) - SCRAP THIS - gonna weld in a horizontal bar to the rollcage. Short shifter / Quick shifter - SORTED Adjustable camber top mounts to suit standard strut assembly Adjustable camber bolts similar to http://www.ebay.co.u...6#ht_898wt_1163 Any poly bushes going spare to suit our car! Standard ECU? Also on the off chance if anyone has a
  9. Quick update...the Starlet is still going strong despite all efforts to break it. Couple of recent photos.... Nice new trip and countdown timer / stopwatch timing gear with shroud... Trying really quite hard here! New quad-lamp setup on the front - like staring into the sun when she lights up! We're about to spend a few more quid on the car with some upgrades (like decent tyres, shock horror - at the minute we're running tyres and rims we got off a 20yr old Cavalier found in a barn ) - have posted a Wanted ad in the Classifieds, at http://www.ukstarletclub.com/forums/index.php?showtopi
  10. How much camber adjustment do the Cusco top mounts give? Do you have a link to a product info page?
  11. Couple more photos of the Dublin event post-damage. I like to think of the lack of wing as a weight saving feature (all about the power-to-weight....). Still boot to the board round an old quarry, very good fun Got a new wing, wishbone and some clear indicators earlier this week and were back on the competitive trail last night for a Navigation Trial - 3rd in Class which we were delighted with, hadn't done a Nav since February and we were pretty rusty.
