  1. Mate, sorry to say the car looked so much better standard. I like the wheels though. red rim around the edge would look nice. personal preference though i guess.
  2. mate, i was in the same position as you. I wanted to lower my car but had to get the right balance between how much I wanted to spend and knackering up my standard suspension. Like Keirz said, the lower you go on standard shocks the worse it's going to be in the longrun. Best bet is the standard SR springs 25mm or something similar. I have really high quality RS*R springs on my starlet with standard shocks. They work great, awesome handling, better looks and superb quality.
  3. mate, nice work. Have you managed to start her up yet?
  4. mate, nice GLS, very rare in 3dr. Where did you get hold of that spoiler from, looks very cool. I think it would finish my red ep91 off perfectly
  5. My 15's also rub full look to the right. The standard 13's didnt rub though. The only problem with them was that I've eaten pizzas which have a larger diameter. The car was a bit cheaper to run back then though.. hmmm
  6. Mate looking good, I'm well jealous of your electric windows. arrrrrrrggggggggg!
  7. The (EP91 starlet i) doesnt have power steering.. and boy do I know about it, huuuuge bicepts!! haha
  8. Hey guys, thanks for your comments. First of all i borrowed my mates colour restorer, that didnt do anything. I think bought myself some 'original' t-cut. Boyyy it was hard work. Took me about 3 hours to wash, t-cut, wax again. My arms were dead... no need for the gym anymore. Shelly, your TTE alloys are smart.... I like your calipers too. I might get some red ones... hmm
  9. Thanks mate, yeh, i managed to get them with brand new tyres as well. It looked a bit like a 4 by 4 last week but I had RS*R springs fitted over the weekend. The handling is so much better and it looks a little more aggressive too.
  10. not sure at the moment. If I could get a red spoiler off of a sportif that could be a potential mod.
  11. Guy's, Here's my red 1.3i. I've had the car over a year now, it was completely standard when I bought it. As some of you may know I've been searching for Speedline's on here for ages, gave up about a month ago as I couldnt find any. Decided to go for a different approach. T-cutted the roof and bonnet, waxed the car so it now actually looks red. Let me know what you guy's think.. Bobby
  12. Hey, i've just been trying to remove the rear Toyota and Starlet stickers on the rear of my EP91. I cant seem to peel the damn things off as when i start the sticker just crumbles at the edges making it hard to make any progress. Does anyone have any suggestions?? Cheers, Bobby
  13. Guys, I wish to remove the black side strips off my EP91 because they look a bit naff. How can this be done? Does it leave holes behind? Does the area behind the strips need respraying? I've seen some removed and some just sprayed on top of. I'd prefer to remove them if possible. Thanks Bobby
  14. Mate, I've gotta be honest, I preferred it all white but... it's all about taste.. if you like it why care what anyone else thinks???
  15. Cool, where can I get R*SR springs from. Any URL's would be useful. Cheers
  16. Guys, Thanks for your advise so far. I have found some 30mm Eibach's for £170ish. Has anyone used these with Standard Starlet shocks/setup. They are around £80 more than PI's or APEX and I would be tempted to buy these if they work better with the original shocks and not screw the original suspension. Also as they are 10mm less-a drop than the 40mm PI's should these be better for the original toyota shocks??
  17. As I haven't got the funds for coilovers and not wanting to kill my original shocks I might be tempted by 30mm or 35mm lowering as opposed to 40mm. Any suggestions on some decent springs that match well with the standard starlet shocks?? I have a budget of £150 ish
  18. Cool, My wheels are ordered. Say I get my car lowered by 40mm, i havent got the budget to change my shocks. Will it f*c* up the original shocks at all? My car has only done 30 k and i'll be doing mostly motorway mileage.
  19. Cheers mate but i'm pretty set on the silver team dynamics. I would have gone for them if i had a white starlet but mine's red! thanks anyway
  20. yeh, they are nice. A bit more expensive and heavier. I need them as light as poss as my car is unmodified and I tend to do a lot of motorway mileage.. economy is still important unfortunately.
  21. Well I iz reaallll, aiiiiii My Starlet is gonna luk rude. Need those rims asap through (Team Dynamics Pro Race 1.2) , looks like a Grandad car right now. I'll post some pics of it soon so you can see what I'm on about. Its a 1998 i in Red. No power steering or anything, just the way it should be!! My rims to be I've had some tips on lowering by 40mm. My only concern is not to kill the original shocks as I haven't got the funds to replace them...
  22. Nice one. Another question, I know the PI's won't be bang on 40 mm and I believe they lower to a set height. If it lowers by exactly 40mm after fitting, there shouldn't be any scraping in the arches right? Im planning on making the order now you see, otherwise is it possible to get 35 mm PI's, and if so should I go for those instead? Cheers mate
  23. Guys, I am the proud owner of an unmodified 1998 Starlet 1.3i, 3 door. I am looking to drop it by 40mm (most likely PI springs) and get a set Team Dynamics Pro Race 1.2 15inch 195 x 45 wheels. Does anyone know if a standard starlet can comfortably take these wheels after lowering without having to modify arches etc..??? I wish to keep the car as standard as possible but feel I need to lower it so it won't look like a pick up truck after 15's. Hope someone who has made a similar mod can help me out???? Bobby
