  1. I used to have a similar problem, thanks to your qoute I'm now quite sane!
  2. Has anyone ever coated the plastic trim that runs down the side of the car another colour? I've just referbed a set of alloys in artic White and was thinking of doing the long trim down the body in the same colour. Body work coat is in that blue/purple. I know most people just remove it, but for the sake of trying something new. It looks alright when I photoshopped is but it often looks very different in real life. Any thoughts?
  3. Nevermind, £40 later and it's sorted. Now to find some centre caps...
  4. Hey I was wandering if anyone could help me with some information for buying cheap locking wheel nuts. I recently referbed some alloys I bought but the old nuts look terrible and it's going to throw out all that hard work and effort. Alloys are 6.5j x 15h2. Any guidance would be awesome thanks!
  5. Well I have the alloy at a local alloy repair specialist so I'm waiting for their verdict, but I think this just confirms my initial thoughts. I'll try and stick a picture of the whole wheel when I get a chance. In hindsight I wish Id just not bothered with the curb and taken more than her plastic bumper with me... Lowered suspension ctually helped reduce the damage, I didn't touch any of her paint work and kept my bumper in one piece. Bonnet and headlights wernt so lucky tho... Anyway, don't suppose anyone who reads has a set of 4 spare and cheap alloys lying around ?
  6. I went and took the front of my starlet off 2 days ago when some lady decided to stop suddenly on a 60mph open road and let someone out of a junction with no signal or warning. In the process of trying to avoid her, I went on a little offroad route up a curb and then back onto the road when I decided the on coming telephone pole wasn't the best option. I've managed to repair everything and now looking at replacing/repairing the alloy. I've attached a pic and was hoping someone with a little more experience might be able to give some hindsight on how severe the damage is: Also I'm looking fo
  7. I'll drop some pics on later tonight mate. If it's like mine you should be able to do it easily enough, but if it's screw on, then what enots said is correct
  8. I got a pair of these today. If you squeeze the side of it there's a "cover" type hinge that hides the clip part. I think the grub screws u mention are in fact the hinge? They're easy to get on tho, the back of the box should also have a pic of the hinge clip opened and closed. If u need more help Ill take some pics for you
  9. I had my back box come away from the mid pipe yesturday and a local garage fixed it up quite nicely for £28. He is a top bloke and specialises in stainless and mild steel custom systems. Dropped it off at 3pm and picked it up at 5pm If your near the west midlands, the garage is called AA - Silencers in Stafford, Staffordshire. I presume a quick fit would be in a similar price range?
  10. Thanks for all the welcomes! A meet up definitly sounds like a good idea, could get some serious good info
  11. I actually live in Stafford itself but am often in and around the area as well as sometimes cheshire, Congleton, Alsager etc Company also does sheet metal manufacturing Complete set up really as they do everything in house.
  12. Just following on the wipers discussion... My wiper arms have gone a little rusty and I was wondering where the best place is to get a new pair and also does anyone have any experience with frameless aero wipers? eg. http://www.meanmachines.biz/store/toyota-s...per-blades.html
  13. Hey thought I'd make a quick post to introduce myself My name is Deryck and I'm from the UK, Staffordshire area but originally from South Africa Just bought myself a reasonably well looked after Toyota Starlet 1997 SOL metallic blue with a few modifications done to it. (pics to follow) Think the car was a little chaved out so got a bit of work to do, but the general condition seems great and it absolutley floors it in the lower gears so I think there's been some work done there to. In fact it was owned by an aeroplane mechanic previously, so I got some rather odd aeroplane pipes and pieces
