  1. Autoglym engine and machine degreaser initial spray, followed by scrubbing with various nylon bristle brushes, then hose it down. For bare metal components, I use Autosol with cloths and a wire brush/brass wired brush for heavily corroded alloy parts. Autoglym rubber and vinyl care spray takes care of all the black plastics and ignition leads etc.
  2. Or see whether your fusebox has an ABS fuse in it. The map on the lid of the fusebox will show you where it should be.
  3. Haha, what a tard, just pulled the top of the bottle off and then filled it directly! Used to these Audis where everything is screwed down with a thread!
  4. Just tried to bleed the coolant system on my N/A EP91 by running the engine with the radiator cap off and allowing the fan to come on so that I know the coolant has exchanged. The car was parked with the nose pointing uphill so that the rad cap is the highest point. All good. I've left it to all cool down, come back, squeezed a few hoses and checked the radiator level and that's to the top, but the coolant bottle/expansion tank level has dropped. I understand that this has a tube that runs to the bottom of it inside so it sucks fluid up, but how do you refill this bottle? I'm assuming the rad
  5. I've run the paperclip test on my 1997 N/A EP91 and it's flashed up 2 codes - a 12 and a 22. Don't know how to tackle the 12 so the thing I'm going to sort first is the 22 code - coolant temperature sender (or coolant temperature sensor?) but I don't know where it is on this engine. Anyone able to help/add pictures so I can whip it out and try a new one. My thinking is a response to the saga below (reading is optional) The engine management light comes on briefly (5-10 seconds) as the coolant gets up to normal temperature, then it goes out again. While driving it sometimes comes on again, at
  6. Recently bought an R plate sportif which is coming up to 54k. It didn't come with any service history so I don't know if the cambelt has ever been changed. The car has power steering. What is required to change the cam belt and do I need to go for the whole timing belt kit or just the belt itself? Does it take very long and are there any forum members who might lend a hand?

    women :S

Sad to say it mate but it sounds like this realtionship is over. Has she been texting your mate? If she has said she has feelings for your mate then there is a possiblility they aren't just going to go away when your break is over and you start trying to work it all back out again. How much do you want her back? The issue with your best mate is something else entirely and you need to make a decision as to whether you want to work at that relationship also. If you feel he has breached your trust then speak up to him about over a pint; you need not fall out and he may realise that the attention
  8. if you are still playing this mate - add me - gt5novice - and say what cars you need.
  9. I recieved one about 5 or 6 years ago when I had my Nova. I might have been speeding and I might not have seen the Police car behind me. He looked over the car, was satisifed it was all legit and then we sat down in his car where we discussed what had happened. He was alone without a camera and had no evidence about my alleged speeding offence, we settled on me doing 45mph in a 30 and never saw anything more of a section 59 again. No post, no visit, nothing.
  10. Nice one, cheers all. I'm from Chorlton in South Manchester.
  11. Hello all, just bought an R reg EP91 Sportif in a disgusting shade of turquoise (I think it's called 'tropical' as in the disease). It is fairly mint though and has 53k on the clocks. I'm hoping it serves it's intended purpose of ferrying me to school everyday with minimal fuss. I've not owned a Toyota before, having previously had a before Audi 80, W123 Mercedes Benz, E32 BMW 730i, mk1 Vauxhall Nova 1.2 and my first car, a £70 Volvo 340 1.7. I'm based in Manchester so maybe there are a few other NW Starlet owners. Dan
