What temp is the oil at when you say hot. And what grade of oil are you using. Also ambient temp where you are?
About 90 degree celcius. I'm using a 10w40.

hey mates,
what may be the cause of it when the engine running hot, my pressure only 0.5 bar on my greddy oil press meter.
when i took out the engine oil cap, the oil is spitting out from the head

just to update, can use 4age 16v valve spring on 4/5e engines. The valve springs are a lot harder than the stock 4efte valve springs.

Take off oil filter with a bit of hose over the filter mounting point pour oil down it from a heigh and keep cranking. This worked for me
thanks mate. This is what i do currently. But i don't wish to do it everytime when I do a general oil service where I need to take out my front bumper and intercooler...

thanks mate for the info...
do you think the oil pump is causing the problem? pack with grease does it help?

anyone please?

hi mates,
Would like to ask the pressure relief valve on the block, what's actually his job?
My oil pump doesn't pick up oil after I did a general oil change service.
Browsed this link http://www.ukstarletowners.com/topic/72474-5efe-oil-pressure-problem/?hl=%2B5efe+%2Boil
one of the member said the pressure relief valve was full of gasket, thus I am wondering the pressure relief valve is to used to determined whether it wants to suck how much oil?
thanks mate...

Could be one of many things. Where abouts is your pressure sensor located?
It could be a worn or incorrectly sealed oil pump, pressure regulating valve worn/weak spring pressure, worn big end and main bearings on the crank.
Personally I'm not keen on oil coolers that do not have thermostats. You are in effect taking oil away from the engine, filling oil coolers, pipe work etc and expecting the standard pump to cope with the extra work. I know oil coolers are needed on these engines as There's no form of oil cooling system in place and the oil overheats when going on track. Just my opinion, many people have successful oil cooler setups.
I am not running an oil cooler. Is just a oil filter relocator for me to easier get the oil filter changed.
But what I'm in doubt is why is it at cold start it got a very good pressure but once it is getting hotter, the pressure dropped until 0 bar. The oil pressure sensor is located at the oil filter relocator which is connect with teflon of half a meter length.

hi fellow mates, recently i am facing this issue...
I am running a 5EFTE with an oil filter relocator. During cold start, my gauge is showing 4.5 bar, when it is getting hotter, the oil pressure drop until 0.
When I open the engine oil cap, i can see oil is pumping up to the head.
What may be the cause of it? engine oil quality?
difference between EP82 and EP91 sensors etc

is the tps exactly the same on both GT and EP91?
I'm using a GT engine now, but would like to put in the EP91 wiring. Do I need to change the TPS?
