So i changed the distributor o ring seal and all done. thanks guys. There was alot of old oil and grime when i took the distributor out. Cleaned all that with degreaser and brake cleaner and all done. Now to sort out the other leak from the bottom of the timing cover.
-
So i looked round the rocker cover and its bone dry. the leak seems to be coming from underneath the timing belt cover. I cleaned all the old oil and drove it for 30 mins and looked under and the bottom of the cover is wet. Ive changed the crank seal about 4 years ago i say. What else is under there that can leak now that it leaves a spot everywhere i park?

So i decided to check the timing of my car. Below is a link that shows you how to do it. One part im stuck on is, you need to bridge out TE1 and E1 first then, start the car, then adjust the distributor to get 10 degrees, then tighten the distributor bolts and then do you unbridge TE1 and E1 while engine is running or do you just shut the engine off and then unbridge the connection?
Also when the engine is running do i wait for it to heat up or can i check timing when cold????
And do you look at the 0 on the crank or the 10 when adjusting timing?

So i found another oil leak. When i park up the car leaves a drop of oil right underneath the timing belt cover and so when i look underneath the bottom of the cover is covered in oil. I changed the cranshaft seal 4 years ago so could it be that or something else?

anyone know where the thread is?

Hey guys long time! So i seen oil build around and below the distributor. Does the distributor have an oil seal? and if so would that be the cause of the leak? Its not dripping, but just build up, which is fresh as its wet.

Does the Glanza have a cabin filter? If so where is it and where can a replacement be bought?

How would you go about polishing the rocker cover so it has a mirror finish with actually chroming it?

How would you go about changing the engine mount? Would I need to put a jack under the sumper and lift it a tiny bit so it hold it straight and is the sump strong enough to hold that weight with getting dented by the weight of the engine pushing onto the jack? The its just removing the bolts that hold the mount on the engine, right?

I heard MT90 is one of the best and widely used on starlets. Whats peoples take on that?

awesome video mate thanks. what oil is the best for our gearboxes?
-
How do you change the gearbox oil of a Glanza? Where do you top it up and empty it from?
-
Yeah its lowered on teins. So if I was to change it to an adjustable one what length would I adjust it too? Its on Teins springs and KYB gas shocks so its not touching the ground lol

Isit better to just change the bushes of the OEM panhard rod bushes to poly rather than changing the whole rod to a Whiteline one?

As above, bit of a long shot.
