these are not stamped (in that case its actually cast into the body )

Hang on a minute. It sounds like all your errors could be avoided.
The intake was removed and pressure tested and a leak was found you say? Then it was put back on and the problem was still there? What made you/them look at the intake and NOT the gasket?
Our intake manifold gaskets are PTFE, which is the best material you can use. The perform better than all the harder cheaper thermo plastic gaskets we tested against. In both sealing and insulation. The downsiide is its hard for us to cut and isn't cheap. But we stick to it because its the best.
It was found to have a defect on the flange in which a large chunk of metal was missing
to be fair if i took a part off and found "a large chunk of metal missing" i would suspect the flange and not the gasket is a fault.
and also PTFE is not the best material you can use by a large stretch, a phenolic is much more suited for the application *(and is widely used as a thermal barrier for automotive intake manifolds). PTFE (teflon) and nylon are often subsituted because its cheaper but they are not quite as stable at relativly elevated temperatures.

Hello all
As per the above I'm after a n/a 4efe coilpack / distributor,
It's the one WITHOUT the king lead
Cheers

Ive seen it being made in the same process. + ive seen carbon things crack easily - much the same as fiberglass.
Cant say chancing even putting them on a car after spending 8 grand on them myself.
your talking about wet lay carbon fibre for dress up parts and low quality bonnets,
dry carbon fibre is a completely different story, these will not just be made up on a shoe string, i would be surprised if these guys make £500 profit on these.
these will be stronger than most of the replica alloys that are so popular at the moment.

not just the 3rd runner mate, although that is the worst,
its the 2nd as well if you stick ya finger down there, just not as restrictive but a really shitty design

I thought the term uneducated was quite apt here, its pretty obvious neither of you have any sort of experience with this type of car yet feel the need to band the terms "stupid American bucket of crap" as though they are fact.
No I didnâ??t try and prove anything, least of all that anyoneâ??s car is crap, as I happen to love all starlets. I was merely trying to word my point in a way that shows when passing judgement of something you should really take a look at yourself before doing so. Especially when itâ??s pretty obvious that there is no factual backup as to why you think that.
You also seem to think I cant take a joke, I thought it was quite funny. I also thought it was funny patronizing you when you started with the scary comments.
It was then you forced me to retaliate in a rather formal manner such as this.
Oh and I agree an opinion is an opinion even it is grossly misinformed, thatâ??s the trouble with the internet, everyoneâ??s a mechanic and owns a ten second car.
-
im so sorry to hear this, its like one of the cleanest starlet around has the worst luck. Hope you get it sorted buddy, i really admire your attitude as i would have gotten so down and probably sold it by now.
Stick with it mate its obvious your in for the long haul.

Yes, yes owning a toyota starlet/paseo and comparing it to a dodge viper is exactly like comparing rally to F1.............what was I thinking
You have no merit to your argument, stating something is shit or crap without any real follow up just makes you look slightly (read massively) idiotic.
Also I posted here like twice (so your exaggerating somewhat), yet you seem to be throwing insults about left, right and centre.
