Engine temp getting HOT

I have a gt with a stock rad, can see it's pretty corroded and can hear what sounds like a suction noise when running and temp starts to overheat when in slow traffic, would this be down to the old rad??

Does the fan kick in at all? If its all corroded good chance that its the rad but same as ep82 probs wanting thermostat too.

Fan will kick in, but happens most when I turn car off and turn the keys over it will be on for about three minutes, if I get new half rad would a new thermostat be wise aswell?

Thermo housing could be blocked too. One of the lad had this problem. And he sandblasted all the ports on the housing and it was perfect after.

Id be putting a stat in at the same time bud and also look into what rich has mentioned.
