Hi all, new to the forum so just thought I would put up a progress blog, this is my only car at the minute but I do plan on getting either a GT Turbo or a Glanza in the summer once the civic is finished.

I bought the bare shell last June and my original plan was to just re-shell my old 1.4 civic which has severe rust issues but later on in the summer I decided to take a different route with it.

I decided that I would get the car fully resprayed and convert it to DOHC VTEC.

The car was delivered with nothing from the firewall forward so no front hubs, steering rack, engine, gearbox, wings, bumper, bonnet etc. so the first thing I did was install everything to get it rolling, then the 1.4 engine and gearbox went in and front panels were put on, after that only small things were done such as lowering it, full jap black plastics, SiR brake upgrade etc.

During Christmas the engine and gearbox was removed, the engine bay completely stripped and all trim and door handles etc. were removed in preparation for paint, due to it having 4 colours on it the prep process is taking a lot of time.

Currently the car is a rolling shell being prepped for paint which hopefully will be happening over the summer.

Engine:

The engine I went for is a B20B from an auto Honda CR-V and a B16 SiR head which is waiting to be assembled as head bolts, gasket and uprated conrod bolts are needed.

Interior:

Full SiR interior

Nardi steering wheel

Defi gauges

Exterior:

Carbon Fiber Type R spoiler

Type R bumpers

Type R splitters

Type R plate recess

Type R grill

Vented bonnet

OEM wind deflectors

USDM headlights

Clear indicators

Tinted windows

Mechanical

Fidenza flywheel

4 puck clutch

Full SiR brake upgrade

Tanabe exhaust system with decat

Chipped and socketed ECU

B20B with B16 SiR head with SiR cams

I will be getting it painted in Bayside Blue and will be going with Japan Racing JR6 wheels in silver and the engine bay will be painted in KAUB gold.

That is all I can think of at the minute and there are plenty more parts to be bought to get the car exactly how I want it.

Thanks for looking :) I know its not a starlet or even a Toyota but I am a huge starlet fan and as I have said I will definitely be getting one next :)

I'd also like to thank a very good friend, SpikeyJp_68 for all the help throughout my build so far.

When I bought it:

Just a quick update on some things that have been done recently

Firstly the spoiler, I bought this for €40 and it was painted in what looked like black hammerite and once I started sanding it I discovered carbon fibre :p, recently finished prepping it and the weave is not damaged at all so should come up like new when it is lacquered when the car goes for paint.

Also got the rear Type R splitter prepped

The engine got some attention next, painted the block silver and the head was skimmed and pressure tested

Then came the most serious part of body work, the front rad support was bent and it caused the front panels and lights to not line up correctly so I bought another from a breakers yard, hopefully should get it welded in this weekend
