FlipGT1991
Anyone explain to me exactly what it is ? What problems it will cause and how to rectify it and check for it
funny onion
I guess this is another term for crank walk? the crank moves left/right basically along it's length. the thrust washers are there to prevent it happening. Basically it fudges the bottom end. stresses big end and main bearings and journals. 4e/5e's don't seem to suffer from it or not that I've heard of, but Evo engines suffer badly I think. I've never seen an engine with it but I'd take the sump off and check for play along the length of the crank. I'm sure someone can provide a more technical explanation but that's my understanding of it :S
00joeindastarb0
Just stick a dial out gauge on the end of the crank and check the movement in/out or along its length as mentioned. I'm sure the tolerances are on here or tgtt
