Driveshaft movement in gearbox

Good day

Just a quick one. I recently change the cup on my LSD driveshaft as i snapped the splines on my old 1.

Just wondering does anybody know:

Once the driveshaft is pushed into the gearbox and the spring clip has gone into place inside the box, should there be any movement in and out the box?

Mine has about 1/4 inch movement back and forth once the splines have clipped into the box (same as the arrow ive put on the picture)

Is this normal?
