ashep91 Posted November 6, 2016 Posted November 6, 2016 i am looking to forge my bottom end i was wondering is there a massive difference in brands from wiesco pec pauter rods and woozier pistons i see the latter are more expensive any reason as to performance or just a brand price increase? Quote
00joeindastarb0 Posted November 6, 2016 Posted November 6, 2016 They differ in design and the material content which can effect weight, expansion and strength. However for most application the capabilities of any will be fine, it's only when really pushing the envelope careful consideration needs to be given. Quote
ashep91 Posted November 6, 2016 Author Posted November 6, 2016 Am looking for about 230 but only forging due to pushing boost up Quote
AdamB Posted November 6, 2016 Posted November 6, 2016 Save your money, not needed for that power. Quote
ashep91 Posted November 6, 2016 Author Posted November 6, 2016 Cheers Adam Where's best place to get rods and pistons from now as import tax is ridiculous Quote
AdamB Posted November 8, 2016 Posted November 8, 2016 (edited) As I said, save your money, it's really not worth it pal. Best place is probably still SpeedVision tbh, or try giving Tim @ TB Developments a call, he can get good parts at good prices. Edited November 8, 2016 by AdamB Quote
ashep91 Posted November 8, 2016 Author Posted November 8, 2016 Cool cheers Adam am thinking of running about 1.2 bar boost will stock bottom end hold that Quote
AdamB Posted November 10, 2016 Posted November 10, 2016 What turbo? 1.2 bar on a CT9 is very different to 1.2 bar on a GT30 lol. Quote
AdamB Posted November 12, 2016 Posted November 12, 2016 Will be hit and miss really, some engines even fail at 1 bar. If you lower the compression you got better chance of keeping the engine alive. Quote
