No lights on dash

I've got a 97 sportif and it's been off the road for a few months and I came to start it last night put jumper cables on to charge the battery but I have no indicators but hazards work, and there's no lights on the dash when the ignition is turned on. Has anyone had this problem before? High beam and fog light are the only ones that come on

First thing to check is the fuses.

That's what I was thinking for the Indicator's but then what about the battery light and engine warning light

Check the dome fuse in the engine bay, that does a range of interior stuff. 

When you tried the indicators was the ignition on?

Yes the ignition was on, the high beam and rear fogs are the only lights that come on the dash or the Indicator's falsh with the hazards pressed iirc
