Re-trimmed arm-rest taster.

Here's a little taster for everyone of a re-trimmed arm rest that we've just produced. The arm rest is an original toyota EP item, removed from a glanza in Japan.

The original material (a mock suede effect material) was in brilliant condition, but the owner requested for it to be retrimmed anyway to match the rest of his interior, specifically his Integra Type-R seats, which as everyone knows are bright red alcantara, which if ordered from recaro direct on their website is £54 per metre, of which the smallest length you can order is a metre (obviously far too much for one arm rest).

The material in question doesn't flex as well as say, leather, so trimming the original arm rests as per the original material is quite difficult. This forced us to come up with a solution to make this particular arm rest a 1-off, completely custom and unlike any other. To fit the material from the factory, it is wrapped around the foam backed arm rest (a block of wood, basically), stretch around until tight and then stapled from beneath. This is fine and works well on material that flexes, but very difficult and 'messy' to do with relatively un-flexible material.

As you can see from the pics, we have had the material custom stitched with two very neat seams to allow perfect fitting of the material to the arm rest.

The material should match the original integra type-r seats perfectly as they are stitched with an almost identical double seam, meaning it will look as factory fit as physically possible, whilst still being evidently custom and absolutely fantastic looking.

My words when i saw it were "holy shit!", as pics don't do it justice (apologies for the messy desk).

The trim looks even better in real life up close! It's also going in a red glanza, so should look absolutely stunning.

This is obviously not cheap work, but gives you a little taster as to what sort of custom service we can provide - the work was carried out by my father of Krych Trimming, by the way
