Right hybrid is a good choice to begin with as you dont need to alter the standard downpipe and manifold. You should look into getting an uprated manifold though as running high boost will put more heat through it and you dont want to melt the 3rd piston!

With a hybrid on a non forged engine 1.1 bar is a safe limit i would say. Any higher and your going to be looking at forging it.

Keep your front mount you'll defo need it, anything above .85 bar on the standard top mount is doing more bad than good. Some people would even say it does more bad than good at lower boost levels than .85bar.

Look at Enzo's hybrids, decent price and good quality and rated to 1.2bar with warranty but will take more boost but warranty will become void.

right, the stock top mount can easiely take 1 bar and is for less lag, ideally you could benifit from a fmic,a lad near me with a td04 glanza runs 1.4 bar on stock internals, hes run it for quite a while now and all good,my gt is 1.3 bar on hybrid at the momment,1.2 bar is ok on stock internals but anything under is fine if you dont want to risk it

The standard top mount is crap, even on stock boost levels and more so when the weather is hot. Front mount is the way to go, you'll get a little lag but thats better then losing lots of horses through heat soak. :)

i need more info on management. if i get a hybrid would i get a fuel pressure reg aswel and what else would i need i want it to be safe and i want 2 settings 1 on 9bar ish on the hybrid and 1.2 for the occasional show off lol

a decent setup on a fpr or maybe safc would be fine matey, you can go for a different type of management but thats more dollars more more time...a basic fpr and pump are fine IMO for a hybrid to get you rolling

i dont want this to sound really bad but i would avoid speed visions hybrids. i dont know much about them and my feelings could be 100% wrong but i wouldnt trust a hybrid which isnt made from original parts but from chinese copy parts. dont take what im saying as gosple as i could be way wrong. none original parts are a bag of shit to balance and the quality on them is not good.

the ones from tong turbos look good.

well i will take that on board. i dunno yet i first gotta get the car tip top so im getting green stuff pads and 3 g discs and then ill service the car with service kit from toytuning. then im gonna get the clicky cv joints sorted? anyone know as my front end clicks on cornering and major on full wheel lock i have been told its cv joints but i wouldnt know wat parts as there is cv inner and outer bits on gtturbo.com so would i just buy everything?. once this is done which is gonna be about £800 ill be hoarding in the parts for hybrid then where would i go in the south east to get it set up as i dont wanna go somewhere where they fuck it up

my only concern about tong turbos is the lack of feedback from people who have bought ? im also in the market for a hybrid turbo and so far im thinking of either the ones from toytuning or tong turbo, toytuning are a bit more expensive than others but with good reviews and feedback , and also a 6 month warranty. Still undecided

one thing ill always remember andy is, you get what you pay for

one . i like your sig lol

i would add - turbo timer = confused bitches lol

n e way i completely understand about the speedvision kit but it looks really good lol. im gonna go with which ever when i get to that point as i wont get it till about august but thats not that far away so im starting to make lists on things i need and sourcing them as soon as poss as i wanna get my arse into gear and do it otherwise ill just keep spending money on pointes shit that dont have nothing to show for.

one problem im going to get is that i dont wanna get rid of my aircon. i know its pretty pointles as i dont use it but its just when i come to sell it if its a numty who buys it atleast i can still say it has aircon lol and if i can get round it i may aswel. any ideas should i just route it down to the ground like the guy with the 3sgte engine?

mate, you havent got to get rid of your aircon...i havent and i have a gt spec hybrid...you dont HAVE to have a front mount filter....i have mesh on mine(against warrenty rules-but hey ive already had it a months and it hasnt been used:()and mesh is so less restrictive, and means i can keep my ac heeeheee

ive tried it all matey...i rounted mine to the floor like dan(3sgte) and i routed all the restrictive piping shit behind the rad,at the end i just thought....fuck THIS SHIT''....£1.20 mesh FTw'Z

you got msn mate?il be able to help you out

LOL keirz...go in my gt then hahaha....trust...when i had a filter on there it was VERY restrictive, when i meshed it it opened up and pulls so hard!....sounds amazin too

your opinion,my fact, awesome mod...why do all these japs run mesh on their car then

cal dont be a twat about it, my opinion, well based. your fact could be in your mind.

the mesh is made up of say 40% metal, 60% holes right?! your putting it directly across your turbos intake. that means that 40% of you intake is covered by metal

so you are reducing the size of the intake by 40%, plus the air it is sucking will be hot. think about it.

a filter ran to the front bumper in direct airflow will give just as good airflow and lower intake temps.

front mounting is the only option in my head but i think mesh is pretty good as a replacement if front mounting is a problem and you dont do rakes of miles, it will not do a job as effectivly as a front mounted filter but i suppose if you look at it from a different view thats why you have your oilfilter, and frequent oil changes (1-2000 miles) then it should be alot more effective then utilising that long inlet trackt and airbox, poeple will disagree or agree but there are alot outhere that use mesh,

on a plus point, yea it does sound amazing, you can hear the hybrid unmistakably wisteling a treat.

I would agree on the above you get what you pay for. Some of the hybrids out there are worryingly cheap so please be cautious when buying parts. So many go for the bargains and end up paying twice in the long run when it fails, trust me I have been there and done that! We squeezed 200hp from our units at 1 bar which isn't bad at all. Enzo's units look to be good as well, never seen a Tong Turbo and Speed Visions products speak for themselves :( As mentioned you pay peanuts you get monkeys, if it's too good to be true then it probably is!
