BoostJunkie
alrite folks quick question wanting to get ordering my forged pistons but unsure of size i am getting a rebore not wanting to take it to the maximum that way if something goes wrong i can get another rebore, thinking about getting the block rebored to 74.5mm as the standard is 73.0mm now reason i'm asking is if i do get it bored to 74.5mm i can order 74.0mm pistons and the rings should make up the difference am i correct ?thanks guyscolin. SiCaln
standard is 74mm, 74.5 is minimum rebore
StarletRick
if you NEED a rebore then get as little as possible, the walls on the 4e are very, very thin. the max you can go is 75mm, and i think thats too much. 74.5mm if you can get away with it. and as si said, standard is 74mm. if you get it bored to 74.5, you get 74.5mm pistons. when ordering pistons they take into consideration the ring clearances. rorenapier
You will need pistons first, before even thinking of boring the block. The pistons come with a data sheet, with details on what to bore it to.Its not a case of boring it to 74.5 and slapping the pistons in.
