Hello one and all

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I am new to this site.... as i am currently looking to purchase a Glanza turbo as I am 17 and not yet passed my test... (Fingers crossed though... I will be booking it soon.)

I don't know much about them... But I figured this place is the best to find out...

So go easy on me...

I have been in a Starlet... There is a photo in my profile...

That's when i realized I wanted one...

Best Wishes

Zoofy

best you'll get is a Glanza S, and even then, it ain't worth getting because you may aswell buy a UK Spec N/A Starlet

insurance will be ridiculously high on a Glanza V or GT Turbo

i suggest you get a UK Starlet, pass your test and do pass plus and get 1 years No Claims, THEN try get a Glanza

Get yourself a UK spec N/A Starlet.

You wont get insured on a Glanza V and insurance will be sky high on an S because it's an import.

You can always do a glanza body conversion on the N/A, and there's a fair few things you can do to the N/A engine too.

with your dad as the main driver your still looking at about £2000 upwards, and even then you won't earn any NCB so its not worth it if you twang it after passing your test

Welcome to UKSC ;)

As long as your insured properly then thats the main, but I wouldnt recommend one of these as a first car, wouldnt want to trash it now would you :p

PS you are really lucky to be able to have one of these as your 1st car!!

You could also get a cheap N/A and buy a Glanza and declare it off the road (if you got the money for one that is)

then you can just wait til insurance gets better for it

Hello Mate.

I don't think I could afford both...

But that's a good idea

The a non turbo Starlet is easily fast enough to put you in a wooden box.

It's quicker than alot of people's first cars.

Also, it's not just buying the car that costs money, there's insurance, tax, and the cost of maintaining the car and replacing parts.

With the amount of money you've got, you're pretty much sorted for an N/A and being able to get a glanza kit on there ;)

Hiya..

Well I haven't looked at the naturally aspirated starlets... But I might just do that...

As you say there fast enough to put you in a wooden box...

cheers for your words of wisdom :p

I had mine (ep82 gt turbo)when I was 19 and it was £920 tpft with 1 years ncb.

I got a quote when I was 18 and it was over twice that!!

Not trying to put you off but buying a turbo as a first car is only going to end in tears.
