southwales_tuner
Ok, when i fire the engine up it idles for a while at around 1000rpm or slightly above say 1200rpm, then settles down after a while as the engine warms up. Then it goes down below 100rpm to say beatween 600-900rpm and this ends up vibrating the feck out of everything and even manages to vibrate the front bumper. Very annoying. What is the recommended idle speed on a GT and how do i change it, ive got a good idea but would like to clarify before i go ahead with what i know.Cheers in advance for any help given,Rhys. ste91
Does it do this all the time or is it doing it because you have the heater/wipers/rear window heater/lights on?
Asad
lol is the bumper properly fixed @ ste mine revs at 1200 max when i have heaters on, rear demister, lights, cd player, n sometimes the wipers. then it fluctuates at around 950-700ish when at temp.if you want to adjust it wait till the car is really hot then adjust it? Glanza_Ragger
Let the warm up to operating temp. Then if you need to adjust the idle do it with all electronics off, ie headunit, lights, heaters etc.On the intake manifold there is a little black round grommet on the right hand side, near the intake pipe.Remove the rubber and adjust via a flat heat screwdriver. AlexGTAdv
My GT does this, once it has warmed up it will randomly idle between 800 and sometimes as low as maybe 400-500, its totaly random but i just ignore it! It doesn't seem to be doing any harm.
