Airbag steering wheel swap

hi guy's

i've got a Glanza half-cut, i've taken the airbag steering wheel off the Glanza, and i want to swap it over to my Starlet that came with an airbag equipped wheel.

i should just be able to do a direct swap without any probs? i'm not sure how airbag systems work, don't really want to swap it over and it blows up in my face

i do want the airbag to work incase of an accident, also insurance requires that my car has a working airbag, so no aftermarket steering wheel.

can someone help me out with info??

I seem to remember a thread here I think where this was touched upon, do a search it said how to detach the old one and stick the new one in, and also mentioned to unplug the battery, no power, nothing to power the firing sensors!

yea thats right disconnect the battery first, but also bear in mind that you would need the same style steering wheel, u can not replace the early 4 spoked wheel with a 3 later spoked wheel as they employ different mechanisms, believe me ive tried
