Toby@ToyTuning.com
This makes a good read This is what we recommend for a good 200hp setup:Here you go, this is a basic overview on how to get a well balanced 200hp setup with brakes and chassis to match:â?¢ Hybrid CT9â?¢ Free Flow Mild Steel Manifoldâ?¢ Wrap Manifold/Decat in Heat Wrap â?¢ Decatâ?¢ Cat Back system 2.5inchThe car is now expelling gases more efficiently.â?¢ Relocated Air Filter to front bumperâ?¢ Reduce Intake lengthâ?¢ Heat Reflective tape for Inlet TrackCar is now breathing more efficientlyâ?¢ Raise the Rear of the Bonnet with washersâ?¢ Front Mounted Intercooler (wrap throttle body side pipes with heat reflective material)â?¢ Uprated Thermostatâ?¢ Rad Capâ?¢ Consider better radiator and breather/header tank if planning on track daysâ?¢ Consider Oil Cooler WITH thermostat if planning on track daysCar is now cooling more efficientlyâ?¢ New Spark Plugs (consider colder grades 7,â?¢ New HT leads â?¢ Inspect Dizzy/Cap/RotorIgnition system now worksâ?¢ Uprated Fuel Pumpâ?¢ Fuel Pressure Regulator Kitâ?¢ Engine Management/Piggy Back/Fuel Controller (depends on needs)â?¢ Rolling Road SessionCar now fuelling adequatelyâ?¢ Uprated clutch with flywheel is possâ?¢ Quickshift Kitâ?¢ LSD if possCar can now handle power and you can shift quickerThis should net you around 180bhp - 200bhp on 18 psi max. This then leaves the brakes and chassis which will need to be sorted to cope with the power. I would recommend at a min:â?¢ Uprated Front Disksâ?¢ Uprated Padsâ?¢ New OEM Rear Padsâ?¢ Braided Brake Linesâ?¢ Cusco BMCSâ?¢ Dot 5.1 Toyota Fluid (bleed dry and refill)You can now stop!â?¢ Coilovers / Fixed height shocks with springsâ?¢ Front and Rear Strut Bracesâ?¢ Panhard Rodâ?¢ Lower Arm Barâ?¢ Anitlift kitâ?¢ Front and Rear ARB's Upratedâ?¢ Check and replace worn bushesâ?¢ Good tiresâ?¢ Full Geometry setup on 4 wheel alignment system (Camber, Toe, Castor, Corner Weights etc)Power to ground greatly improved.Thatâ??s a basic list of what we recommend, obviously there are many more parts that will net you a good handling car that can stop with power to match but that should give you a good idea on where to take her pending needs. You don't need to go for everything all at once but it's a good long term plan, take each step at a time. This doesn't take into account basic servicing which is a must, make the most out of what you have no point adding mods until the car is up to scratch. nerosis
Would the standard mani crack with the above mods? Also, how do u prevent boost creep? and is it bad for the car?
Kennedy
With some of you actually doing what i ask for lol,People aren't here to be you slaves haha It all depends on what you wana do first?Looks, handling, performance braking? or bit of all?
nerosis
i know all u folks aint slaves lol, i was just saying. And i generally asked what people would do with £1200 to spend on their car if it was standard. So i was hoping for a mixed review from performance to handling/braking.This is all i ask people. Bourkey
* Rear ARB - a must imo* GMAX/Tein springs and koni shocks, or a coilover setup - depending on road conditions in your area* SPS Mani and decat* decent panel filter/open filter on end of efi pipe/monster motorsport relocation kit - take your pick* Front mount intercooler. the Autobahn ones seem good for the money or the HDI, in my opinion the hdi is too big though!* exhaust system- i can vouch for the blueflame, or dave b's (TM developments) burspec one if he still does them* HKS or TT Actuator @ 0.8barafter that you're looking either fcd/rrfpr combo setup on a rolling road/wideband or piggyback ecuI agree with this but add a boost gauge too so you can keep an eye on things .Bourkey
Glanza_cl
£1200 sounds like alot and i had that and more, when i first got my car but believe me it didn't go very far lolafter a service it went down some, then once i got the parts if you cant fit them yourself you gotta take garage fee's and labour into consideration.there is no set 'what to get first' mod, what do YOU want? handling? Power? Looks/styling?if you tell us the above then we might be able to point you in the right direction.
nerosis
mainly power and stlying like like, condisdering the exhaust is in both of them brackets lol.
