any decent chrome platers in/around kent area?

looking at getting my intercooler pipework chromeplated after ive finished welding the bov adaptor welded.

Any previous experiances , photos and numbers very welcome.

there was actually one that was just off the m25 (quite near you i think) that my dad used to use for his bikes, but it folded up a year ago unfortunately...

arghh bugger it, theres one near me in hythe... i say near , its like 30 or so minutes away but they want 60 quid each intercooler pipe

is that just plated? or is that polished also??

they normally charge extra for polishing!!

Just get some metal polish and polish up the aluminium pipes the cooler comes with -- They come up really well. Just like some of the rocker covers people have polished up.

And it's cheaper

would you not need to protect it somehow to stop it from fading??

It does fade a bit. But just keep polishing it.

I'd say chrome plating would require a lot of maintenance anyway. the heat would tarnish it I'm sure -- which would need constant polishing to keep it shiny.

you could polish it then get it lacquer it

polishing it isnt a problem, if they were aluminum pipes

There powder coated metallic silver mild steel pipes

i might paint them the same color as my rockercover/brace etc...

Ah right - most places supply you with aluminium piping, sorry

Well painting might be ok for the cold side of the piping -- but the hot side gets very... well hot.
