Gear Selection Problems, Help!

I have a ep91 glanza with a non lsd standard box, i am having trouble getting it into gear mainly 1st 2nd and 3rd. It feels notchy and like the gates are too tight to get in , only way can think to explain it. Also when in neutrel the gear stick moves around a lot like bushes are worn. could it be selector cables ??? any help would be great. cheers guys.

Some times problems like these are just a process of elimination,

Think of things like,

Has there been any work lately that could have affected things, i.e clutch work anything near the gear cables?

Is there any slight leakage of the clutch system? Problably would affect every gear selection but worth a check,

When was the oil last changed? Again would probs affect all gears,

Has there been any harshness on the gears? If its struggling to go into gears maybe syncro rings could be worn and not slowing the gears down enough to engage them.

Have a look at things like that, and go from there

Noticed a lot of play in the cables and gear stick as well , gearox oil was changed recently but i reckon worth a try seeing as had a few track outings on it.thanks for advice mate

i am going to strip it down tommorow and have a look i think it is just getting a bit tired , see if i can find any ovious problems.

will let you know how it goes.

Does it get stuck in gear?

id check gear linkages as well before stripping the gearbox

you can see them without removing anything anyway

if there naffed its easily fixable and would deffo be the easiest and first thing id do
