ir you are going to pay someone to do everything... prep and spray then most probably around £2000 for a decent spray job, but that would be outter shell only, if you want inside of bonnet done, inside of doors/boot ect ect it's going to cost more and more for everything to be sprayed the same colour you would probably being looking at around £4000-£4500,

dont quote me on it as not a sprayer but one of my mate's is and i know roughly what he charge's in your area it may be alot cheaper though or more expensive ;)

You should be able to get an excellent job for £1k or under.

greame was quoted 2k for a same colour respray and 3-4k for a full change of colour i think. best spray painter up here though

No offence but you get what you pay for, so if you wanna pay £1000 or under for a 'brilliant' spray job then go ahead, but for a full body respray at this spray shop in dover area they would charge £2,000 and £4,000+ for a body + engine bay/boot/inside door's ect

i guess getting your car sprayed in different area's of the country must vary alot and it must just be bloody expensive down here ;)

takes 8 hours labour to prep a small car. depending on labour can vary from £50-£110 per hour I charge £60 per hour thats with out any other work like rust patches and filler needed.

my guess was based on a staret being a small car,not haveing the colour changed, and being in resonable condition ie: just parking dents & scratched (normal things)

Going by prices of my local few shops that do alot of VW's etc..

For a good job too, not a cheap one.. around £800 for an exterior respray in the same colour..

Around £1000-1100 if you want to include the door shuts, top of the inner wings and boot shut.

Also im not sure what Glanza's are like, but in my Polo, the rear side windows need to be removed for a proper spray cause of the exposed rubber seals, which make it a mission to mask off.

Change of colour would be the same price, either way the car needs to be flatted back down so it doesnt make much difference what colour goes back on top.

Thing is, if you need scratches, stone chips and any work like that included, it will knock the price up as it's just more time consuming.

It always helps if you can do as much prep work as possible yourself, but only if you know that it will to a good enough standard for the shop to work on.

I for example, needed my bonnet repainting due to loads of stone chips. Would have been alot of prep work as it needed putting back to bare metal. Something like that you could easily do yourself, either buy a spare bonnet without chips, or put a spare on your car and prep your own.

Just a case of sanding the paint down through the grades until the bare metal, then whack some etching primer on.

Prep work is always the most time consuming and therefore affects the price drastically.

round here its normally £150 a panel and about £1200 for a full respray and its a decent spray as well no quick shite
